Has anyone seen or heard of this documentary on YouTube about the pig farming industry?

It's absolutely horrifying. It has damn near made a vegan out of me.

I got no food in the house, will this video make me hungry?

Animal agriculture in general is horrifying and disgusting.

If you are hungry but have no food, that's probably the right time to watch this. Hunger pangs should disappear for a few hours.

Anything in particular or the whole thing?

I was just talking about the whole movie. It's a full length documentary, so I don't necessarily expect anyone to go and watch it. Plus it's a very graphic and unpleasant experience, so everyone should know that if they're considering it. I was just mentioning it for discussion...

I suppose if I were to bring up anything in particular, it would be the sadism of the workers, inflicting unnecessary beatings and injury to the animals, kicking piglets into walls and stuff. Don't have a timestamp or anything.

I watched this like a year or so ago, it's brutal; workers being as you state seem like the norm in that industry or at least looks like it from all the stuff I have watched over the years.

Takes a certain kind of person to do work like that. An Asshole.

I've seen some of the more disturbing scenes.

I'm into guilt porn so I will probably watch this and feel bad later.

Still, bacon makes a pretty strong point.

My faith in bacon will not waver

Meh, i lived on a farm in mexico for a couple years when i was a kid. I've seen it all.

Well, they kill things for a living all day long. It's not a job that's going to attract the most compassionate applicants.

Watching this should only produce what common sense should tell you happens at places like this in most cases if you were to stop and think about what goes on in places like this mo

I ate pork chops today. Not even joking. I forgot about this like 30 mins after the fact. Good luck to anyone going vegan over watching this.

Yeah. I won't lie and say I wouldn't/don't feel terrible for the animals -I do- but they are a major planetary food source and that's just the way it is.

Basically what I'm saying is: no reason for me to seek something like this out. I can use common sense to figure out what I'll find so I'm not going to bother. I accept that it can be terrible.

This is sort of similar to people I know that like to look at gross shit from time to time on the web like death scenes and gore and what not. I've no need to seek it out, I can imagine enough.

I don't agree with the industry and how the animals are treated, pretty much a holocaust on a bigger scale for pigs and cows and other animals. This still doesn't change the fact that I love meat and eat it daily and will continue to eat it. I honestly don't really like pork besides maple bacon every once in a while but streak especially Ribeye is one of my favorite foods and if I could eat it everyday I would.

Those people are simply scum.

My friend's grandfather runs a farm in.... Kentucky? The animals generally all love him, and when it is time for them to be slaughtered he merely leads them in and they do it in the easiest and most humane method commonly employed (that spike gun to the head).

The people working at these huge industrialized agricultural farms are just low-brow human shit.

Ok.

If you had never seen a video/doc/pic whatever concerning this trade and someone asked you to predict what kind of people work in this environment on a daily basis.. would you have guessed many of them to be otherwise?

LOL! I have no idea. I understand your logic here: who would sign up to murder animals for a living other than homicidal degenerates? Theres certainly something to consider there, but that need not be the summation of reality. It's simply what our government continues to permit, which is a travesty.

All of this falls under the broader issue of societal problems ranging from education to social support for families who need it, to our criminal justice system. ... corruption, oil pollution, etc etc. It is the way it is, but it never needed to be like this.
