Basically these guys who run marketing schemes like this know that there's a certain percentage of people who won't read the small print or check their e mails obsessively, therefore these guys get billed.
When you go berserk at the missing $79, they say it's all legal, in the contract, etc and it's your own fault for not reading the emails, but that is what they were banking on to get that money in the first place. Even if they cancel it, they will probably get to keep the first $79 you paid as it was within the legal terms of the contract. It is a pure scumbag business practice, practiced only by the shadiest guys who I would personally have nothing to do with, perhaps I'll torrent his DVD set, see how he likes it when people take from his pocket without asking.
Also this Shaun Smith guy is undoubtedly a scumbag, don't listen to his bleating about 'providing the best quality service', this is what these guys always say when they get caught out, they play the victim to try to make you feel guilty about calling them out.
