Social Louisiana child kicked out of class because parents are same-sex couple

Jesus hung around with 12 virile young dudes....lol, if you don't think he really enjoyed their company, if you know what I'm saying (anal).

No for gay Jesus!

Yeah, baptist hate LGBT people across the board.
I remember maybe 15 years ago when the music director’s son, who was a Sunday school teacher himself, came out as gay at this Baptist church I know. The music director had been a member almost 50 years, and the son grew up there and was in his 30s. He was kicked out of the church, and his mother was either kicked out or decided herself not to return. It's fucking disgraceful.

He liked women unlike your boy Jesus.

Especially them 9 year old women. And JC had a woman.
But he might be scared to do Mohammed because of "tolerate" reactions from Islam.

I am not even sure it is baptist. I used to live next to a Lutheran k-12 school in Houston that kicked out a kid for being "too gay". I was always under the impression that the Lutheran church was extremely progressive. Part of me wonders if a lot of biases and stances in southern religions are just views of the populace reflected back into the church and not the other way around. Most people don't care about LGBT issues in the south but anti-LGBT actions are tolerated or ignored unlike many other places. Up north, hell would be raised if a principal kicked out a kid out of middle school for being "too gay".

What bullocks. What was not true about what I posted. Even if you don't believe in God or any religion what was untrue.

The studies on the catholic church put around 15% of priest in the wild as being gay and up to 80% in the Vatican. By all accounts, the Vatican is gay as fuck. Sometimes, I wonder if the pope has been taking a softer stance on LGBT issues because anytime a journalist does any digging, it is readily apparent how gay the hierarchy in the church is. It was easy to hide that shit 50 years ago but not now when cardinals are on Grinder and emailing male prostitutes.

Heaven must have an insane male:female ratio then because a lot of heterosexual men do not live monogamous lifestyles.

Everybody goes to heaven eventually. But attachment to lust has to be let go of along the way. As far as I can tell the only problem with being gay is that you have an endless list of men who will do anything you want anytime you want. And that allows you to descend down the road of debauchery and sexual addiction.

It's not disgraceful to disallow a practicing homosexual to be a part of an internal Christian community. It's just a principled stance that comes directly from scripture and that has very good reasons for existing.

Don't be a bigot towards Christianity.

Scripture contains hundreds of absurdities and rules that Christians conveniently ignore. Sounds more like you are just looking for an excuse to mistreat people you dislike.

Because the religion has evolved into a more modern form. Which is why they don't drag out people and stone them. Or throw gay people off of roof tops. Modern Christians don't follow the letter of the law in the old testament. And it's not some kind of got you that they don't. The religion has become much kinder and more tolerant over the years. I'm not sure why the anti religion people think this is such a bad idea.

Atheists like to rag on religion for never-changing and the other thing atheists really like to do is rag on religion for changing.

I don't know who this post is meant for since you didn't quote anybody but if you're talking about me I can assure you that that is absolutely not true. And I do not believe there's even a small amount of it in scripture either... it's not bigotry it's principled and there are really good reasons for it internal to the system. I've already laid those reasons out in this thread.

You hold on to the parts that justify doing horrible things to people you don't like while radically reinterpreting or completely ignoring the absurd parts. Seems like quite the feat of intellectual dishonesty. These "kinder" and "more tolerant" beliefs come from outside the faith. It's called a couple thousand years of human progress despite Christian teachings, not because of them.

I don’t know if they think it’s such a bad idea, I do think it points out the hypocrisy in religion. Besides that you can also doubt the intentions of christians to become more modern, is it because they inherently believe it’s better or just to conserve power.

It's kind of an amusingly nice problem to have but can keep you in a perpetual spiral. It's very easy to simply avoid the physical places and spaces that gay people congregate, but I'll usually have to uninstall all of my geo-social apps if I don't feel like being bombarded with hundreds of inquiries on a daily basis. A lot of them are extremely direct to say the least, it's possible to be engaging in sexual activity within 15 minutes of the first NSFW message exchange.

That is an incredible challenge man... No joke. The only reason I did not cheat on my wife prior to the last ten years is that I did not get direct offers from women for that. I have received them since then but am now sufficiently mortified for it not to be a temptation. But I would have caved endlessly pre night ...

The night of the senses from john of the cross cures that desire so it's truly not a temptation. I am grateful to have been brought through it to a place where there isn't really any temptation on that level. I feel like an utterly different person. The night cures many things. The sex with my wife since then man............. whoa....

Since I am part of a spiritual community that is deeply meditative and really doing the path I can say this though...... I know lots of guys who do cave repeatedly through actual sex or porn and yet Christ keeps drawing them closer to himself until they finally find a place where they are free. I have never met the person who had to give it all up FIRST before God would touch them.

We also have a woman who is lesbian, married and monogamous and I can't see any limitation in her with our path which is truly Christian.

Of course society in general influences religion but it only is going to adapt to a certain degree. Just because it doesn't met your requirements of all or nothing doesn't make them hypocritical.
