losing faith in UFC but not lost

I have seen highs and lows in the UFC. But this new Generation of UFC is garbage. Fox and Reebok have made the ufc so stale. This whole CM PUNK situation makes me sick to my stomach. Promoting Rookies. The guy Gall fought said he knew he didnt deserve to be a UFC fighter but he officially is for the rest of his life. SAGE and Paige too. Paige and sage do have alot of upside but the UFC have Stephan Thompson to promote as the next big thing and i barely hear shit about him. He is what Sage dreams of becoming. I think im about to lose hope that this sport is the best sport around because of all the bullshit that has watered down the UFC brand. I honestly believe that the UFC needs to be back on SPIKE. Have clothing deals with companys that are fighting brands. Metal mulisha would be fucking perfect. The fans would actually jump on board. And to not have the referees stop fights as easy via TKO as they do now a days. let them fight. Hendricks fight should have atleast gone on about 5 more seconds to see if he could recover. The ref jumped in when he first went down. It reminded me of RDA vs Benson. And since the company has taken money out of every fighters pockets by doing the reebok deal im finished giving them my money until the fight game turns into the fight game again. My faith 1 day will be restored but it will never be like the liddell days that was the best era as a fan
When the ref pulled WB off of Johnny, Johnny was still covering even after WB was gone. That means Johnny was not still in the fight. And hopefully WB gets a major push...but I doubt it.

2015 was the best year of MMA ever. Period.

The one PPV so far of 2016? Gave us this:

So we had two recent free cards that were lackluster, and suddenly the UFC sucks?

UFC 189 > anything during the Liddell era, PRIDE era, or any other prior era that MMA hipster fans say was the "golden age".

Right now is the golden age.

The featherweight Champion is fighting the Lightweight Champion four weeks from now.

Also, why complain about referees when the UFC has no control over them? Do you really think Big John doesn't know when to stop a fight?
Now is not the golden age. There are no GOATS right now and the heavy weight division is the worst it has ever been in mma's existence and there is nothing for UFC 200. With that being said there are still solid fights happening.

There are no GOATs, it's a completely subjective term and a dumb concept to obsess over for a sport that's not even 3 decades old. The Heavyweight division has always sucked(my fav fighter ever is a HW BTW). No fights have been signed to UFC 200, doesn't mean there aren't fights to be made, especially if McGregor beats RDA and fights again at 200.

No year of MMA was better to watch as a fan than last year, and this year has some HUGE fights on the horizon, with one of the biggest fights ever just 4 weeks away.

If there being "GOATs" around is so important to you, you're in luck. Jon Jones is coming back in a couple months, and while I do believe GOATs are for sheep, Jones is the closest thing this sport has ever had to such a term.

Guys become GOATS from years of doing amazing things in the cage, their absence makes the landscape kinda grey. Crocop, Fedor, Nog, the golden age had very good heavy weights. Connor was raised very fast and did not fight "A" class fighters before his title shot. Aldo did not fight enough "in the UFC" to really establish anything plus Aldo was basically spit on by fans and UFC brass. That's not how anticipation is built to me. RDA just got his belt and has 1 defense Conner has no title defenses (plus RDA is also spit on), good fight but its not Crocop vs Fedor or Shogun vs Rampage. Jones is an excellent fighter
