Watching him get KO'd was pretty fun. Guy was up his own ass.

Huge loss for the Capitals.. I didn't know the UFC had that type of power.
 
He looked incredible against Niinimaki but his last two fights were disappointing, it makes sense.
 
They should start cutting every guy who ducks Faber for starters.
 
He's not at the required level yet to be honest. Looked out of his depth the entire time.
 
He's a decent fighter but he was only in the UFC cuz of his nationality.

UFC badly needs Europeans, especially from the Nordic countries. Standards are lowered for Nordic fighters.

Plus he's buddies with Gus.

Remove Gus from the equation and he'd prolly never have signed with UFC.

This is the UFC in 2015 you're talking about. Literally everyone is UFC caliber, Backstrom is a great talent and was winning the fight vs the english guy until he got caught, the majority also felt he got robbed against Lahat.
 
The MMA hindsight bias hits again. You're great until you lose once, then you suck. Can't wait till Conor losses to Aldo, wonder how many turn on him.
 
Surprised he didn't get one more. Bit of a livewire though, maybe they saw him as a guy they didn't want on the mike win or lose with the new Reebok deal.....Im sure he'd be the type to have some choice words to say at a live event, nonetheless.

The fight vs Lahat should have probably been a draw, 10-9, 8-10, 10-9. However, Lahat was much more closer to finishing the fight than Backstorm ever was and round 3 could have gone either way.

That is actually fucked up, man. I always looked forward to his fights over most of the card. Very exciting fighter as well as young and still developing. Bizarre that they would cut him after those two losses. One was a stupid mistake and the other a razor close decision.

What a load of horse shit. If UFC needs fighters from Europe then it's fighters from big European countries like Italy, Spain, France. If what you say is true then they'd be signing a load of bad fighters from those countries but they're not. Backstrom was undefeated and a very exciting prospect when he was signed to the UFC.
