So once in awhile you learn something in this forum inadvertently. That just happened for me. I have had a longstanding irritating medical issue that i never bothered to get checked out. Long story short, it appears the answer is a gluten free diet. i never believed in this nonsense, but some research seems to suggest this is the source of my issue.

So.....anyone do this? i am gonna hate it. i love me some bread and pasta. are you allowed cheat days? or do you have to be strict? how much of a pain in the ass is it overall?

I tried a gluten free cupcake once, it looked delicious but tasted like cardboard.

Good luck with that bro.

goodness no. what a horrible fate. i do not believe in that "gluten is the enemy" hog wash.

fave fun with that...

How do you know that's the problem for sure?

trust me, i didnt either. i always said we never had to avoid it before, so what happened in the last 5 years? its just some stupid hipster shit. but every single article i looked up said this was the solution. i guess i will try it a couple weeks and if it helps, i am a believer. if not, back to good food

well, in another thread someone posted a pic of a rash on their leg. it looks EXACTLY like mine. he said it was a wheat allergy. google wheat allergy leg rash and that is all you see.

dude, i hope whatever is wrong works its way out.

I'd make sure before @pcptornado tries to feed you cardboard cupcakes

When I figured out I was lactose intolerant and had to cut out most dairy products including milk and ice cream I almost tucked my shotgun under my chin. At least there is something I can take and have some occasionally.

thats what i am hoping. maybe if i just cut it out mostly. i dont want to be studying labels and only eating shitty stuff

Gluten allergy is like the fat people claiming they have a thyroid problem. Yes, it's a real thing but a very small percentage of people claiming it actually have it.

A guy I knew had a heart attack when he was about 50. They figured out he was diabetic and was talking about the dietary restrictions. He said he could eat anything he wants as long as it doesn't taste good.

The gluten free industry has done a hell of a job making sales the past few years.

My kid has coeliac disease.

It's a pain in the ass to the extent that packaged and processed foods are such a cacophony of unknown substances that it can be really hard to discern what does and doesn't have gluten in it. Obviously it sucks for him not being able to partake in all the treats that other kids can.

The good part is that the easiest way to deal with it is to stick to unprocessed foods, so his diet is super healthy.

could be the best thing that has ever happened to you

My favourite quote from that "Once you take your gluten free vows you'll need to have an automatic understanding that every medical condition is caused by gluten"

"i swear gluten's what killed Gandhi"

I've always wondered why people who have food allergies ever eat anything that they didn't make. The ad on TV about the girl having the reaction to the peanuts in the brownies makes it look like they should always carry their own food. There was a local school bus driver that died from a peanut allergy while driving the bus.

well there is a major difference. at least from my point of view. fat people use that as an excuse. as in they need to give a reason why they are fat. why would someone claim they have a gluten allergy? because they want to excuse eating shitty food? trust me, i was the biggest believer that this shit was all made up.

but it will be an easy experiment. i will try it for awhile. if things get better, i have my answer. if not, back to eating shitty food
