    Hey everyone,

I'm looking for the Ringside Safety Training Glove (Model: RP-16) in lace up. The version I need is the one that was available at least within the time-frame of 2001-2006 (as far as I'm aware).

This is what they looked like then:

I actually prefer this older version. The current model available looks and feels different.

If anyone has a used pair you're willing to part with, or know of a place that still sells them, or know of some lying around in your gym's community bucket, let me know please!!!

    Thanks guys

Are you looking to have them reproduced?

Those gloves were actually really good the soft padding was very absorbent. You won't find those again since Ringside uses like 8 different manufacturers now :(

^^^Yeah, exactly!!! All the subsequent versions have been okay, but not as good as those were.

I don't know who the hell the damn manufacturers were, and Ringside won't tell me. I don't know why they stopped making those...they were a staple for a lot of people.

Do you or your gym mates have any old ones lying around? I read your review for the 18oz so I know you have them in that weight, but I need the 16oz.

Man, I have also been looking for the same gloves! I contacted Ringside and they do not have any old pair laying around.
I am also interested in an earlier pair of IMFs. The new ones (not Pro version) are too compact and hard for my taste.
If you come across more than one pair please let me know. I will do the same.
    Cheers,
    Gus

Thanks, will do. I was reading some posts about how the old IMF was way better and how a lotta ppl are looking for those as well.

Why is all the good ringside stuff discontinued, and the current versions not as good. What the heck!!!???

Isn't there a poster here on Sherdog that works for Ringside reading this stuff??? Please take note, whoever you are...

I had some of those..craftsmanship was fantastic. Same with older imf. They want to make more money. Lower quality increase prices means higher profit. Ringside has cheapened virtually all their products...ring to cage usedcto make a safey strap sparring glove. 4 layer padding close or identical to this old ring side safety glove, however, moshin can still make them as a custom glove. Just email moshin, he can make you a lace version.

This is the best idea and at least you can pick the fit and colors and even add mesh palms. Come to think of it their gear feels so much like old Ringside before the switch.

    Clamp,

Mohsin said they used to offer these, which are similar. Since you reviewed them, were they similar, or exactly the same?

The stitch pattern on the palm looks a bit different, as does the knuckle to wrist width ratio, but still...you've had them both

Thought I'd share the wealth. I got two pairs of the RP16 in lace-ups, exactly as picture above. Willing to part ways with one of them - NEW!!!!

    Please, PM me.

    Best,
    Gus
