Hello everyone , obviously Im new to posting here but Ive been reading the post for a few years now and was wondering if some of you wouldnt mind reading and telling me what you think about my workouts... here goes

I work out 6 days a week it starts off on Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday I work with weights , Thursday Friday and Saturday I work on Cardio. Sunday I rest.
My weight training goes like this I am 218 lbs and 6'2 currently and I do 5 minutes meditating (getting my head and body ready for the workout) that leads into 10 minutes of stretching. I then do shadow boxing or the speed ball for 10 minutes (to get my blood flowing) and then I curl 10 pound weights 20-25 times palm up and 10-15 Palm down, Now I move into the workout.
I am currently benching 175 and I focus a lot on form a set of 10 reps
I am currently using 40 pound dumbells for my curls and I do a set of 10
I then use a 125 straight bar for shrugs and (I lift the bar from my stomach to my chest I dont know what that is called) and also I bend with the weight for my lower back.
I then do shadow boxing or hit the bag for 2-5 minutes and repeat everything 3 times.

I am not resting inbetween the exersizes and it takes me about 50 minutes to a hour to complete everything . I would like to know if anyone can make any suggestions for myself and what I am doing and also let me know if I am doing something wrong. I do drink about 2 1.5 little bottles of water during and I eat 6eggs (only 2 yolks) after the workout.

My cardio is done 3 days a week and is basicly the same to get warm, But I focus more on the Bag and repetitions as well as footwork and bike riding. Im sweating and burning calories so the burning fat is going well I dropped down from 238 so I was just wondering if anyone had any Ideas on what I can do to gain more mass the old fashoned way. Thanks in advance.

What are you lifting for? Just to gain muscle? I'm surprised you haven't read the stickies considering how long you've been reading the forum.

Im really just lifting to gain strength and to get healthier. I started exersizing about 15 weeks ago and I have been feeling great now I am looking to do it right and I feel like I have made a great deal of gain and loss of fat doing as I have been but I was wondering if anything I am doing could be harming me or wasting my time? I do also work on my lower body but thats going fine its just the upper that I have got to a point where for the past 2 -3 weeks I see no change just the muscles are getting harder and more ripped looking , where as I was gaining mass and losing fat before I only seem to be getting ripped and I can lose the last few pounds. Sorry that wasnt included before didnt want to type 2 pages;) Thank you for the fast reply

Oh and basicly I have read em all from gaining weight and losing fat to stretches and "fighter stretching" All the post have been helpful so far that is what helped me lose the 18 pounds and gain mass , sorry if I am a noob to actually posting;)

so, if you read the stickies, you know your routine sucks right? Have you read carnal's treatise or checked out my web page?

Sorry to so no I have not checked it out , if you can give me a link that would be great and my routine like I said was to get me into the routine of exersizing I am 28 and havent worked out prior to this for 7 years. I now want to do it right so thats why I look to you guys, its just hard to go by all the post when there are soo many that all make sence in one way or another . Im just looking to get the most out of my efforts thats all. Thanks for the input and please post a link ( or if you want Ill stop being lazy and search ;)

Oh and Urban dont think I am that lazy I did click your homepage button but it doesnt display anything its a angelfire add right?

Hey Urban and Ballhawkdawk thanks for puttin a noob in his place , my appologies I have actually never went into the "STICKIES" and I didnt realize that is what was posted in that area I know when I am wrong and dont like to admit it but Im wrong so no need to reply to this post anymore and I will continue reading the helpful info found thanks to you .
Mike

http://www.angelfire.com/hero/urbandruid/ is my web page and I just checked, it's up and working fine for me. but before you check it out check out carnal's treatise, you'll find it in the thread labeled Interesting links and threads: new member resources. or If you click on the thread that says "read this before posting or get flamed" you'll find a link to the glossary, the interesting links and threads sticky, the sherdogs strongest man thread, and antiquated contest disgracing HIT advocates.

If your lifting to get stronger then you need to lift ALOT heavier. A guy your size should be able to lift alot more than that. You need to focus on core lifts (Bench, Sqaust, Deadlifts,Leg Press, Bent Over Rows, Pull-ups, Dips, Lat Pulldowns etc). Only workout out 5 days a week, 6 is too much.

I would recommend doing a total body workout 2-3 times a week, hit each body part with 2-3 exercises for 2-3 sets.

For example maybe do this

Bench Press 2x10
Dips 2x10
Pull Ups 2x10
Bent Over Rows 2x10
Squats 2x10
Leg Press 2x10
Military Press 2x10
Shrugs 2x10
Calf Raises 2x10

Focus on using the heaviest weight you can do for 10 reps while keeping your form good

Thanks for the input AZ I do workout alone and the 175 is weight that I know I can do 10 times so I can totally understand what you are saying , How do you think I could figure out the weight I should be working with?

I work out at home and I only have free weights I have two bars and 2 dumbell bars along with about 350 pounds of free weights , I also have the double ended speed ball and double ended punching bag

get yourself a squat rack, that way you can max out, and you can also push yourself to failure if you have to.

No I havent, why would I think your picking a fight for asking a simple question?

cause I often come off very hostile when I tell people to read the stickies, so I try to keep the misinterpretation down to a mininum. You should check them out, you might find you save yourself a whole lot of lessons just by telling people to check them out.
