Looking back at DC's take on the 4 Chimaev fights that didn't go thru it all makes sense

I was thinking why Belal didn't take the fight but then again suddenly the thought hit me that it's not good for Belal from sporting POV because he is at the gate of TS hence why take on a shark like Borz at this point which could set him back few fights. He wants to fight Khamzat but only for a title fight.. The same reasons for Whittaker if it was a title fight he would have taken it as for Costa I guess it was too risky which means sacrificing him to the wolf on his last fight with shitty salary... I think Colby has same reasons he will fight Chimaev for a title fight not a contender fight..

The 3 ranked guys that make sense will only fight him if there is a title on the line at this point in their career they are all eyeing the title..

Which leaves us with one thing if Usman is injured then make Khamzat Vs leon if rocky was to refuse strip him because he forfeit the title which means Khamzat vs Belal for the vacant belt.. If he accepts then Khamzat vs Leon for the belt.. Then the tables will change everyone and his dog will call out Khamzat and come after him..

1. DC explicitly says that he does not think Whittaker turned down a Khamzat fight. This makes me wonder if TS even watched the video. Also, Khamzat has explicitly said he doesn't want to fight Whittaker. So if anyone turned down that fight, it was Khamzat.

2. There's no way the UFC offered Khamzat to Costa. Costa is on the last fight of his contract and has openly talked about leaving the UFC. They're not going to give him a chance to steal Khamzat's hype and then walk away from the company. That's not how they do business. They'd try to lower Costa's bargaining power by finishing his contract on a loss, which is why they wanted him to fight Whittaker (i.e., the worst style matchup for Costa). While Khamzat would probably be favored over Costa, it's way too risky.

3. The obvious fight that should be made is Khamzat-Colby. But Colby has become the biggest diva in the sport, so it doesn't look like it'll happen. Personally, I think the UFC should give Colby a "take it or leave it" offer. Either fight Khamzat or be released from the company. He barely fights as it is, so it wouldn't actually be a major loss if he walked away.

Colby was king hit by a thug and his health is suffering because of that. The courts are aware of the health implications of this coward act. Ultimately, Colby has full right to not fight until he is healed. the UFC offering a fight to Colby in this situation would be negligent

If you don't mean for a title shot, then this is just wrong. Belal has specifically said he wanted Khamzat, and even thinks in some ways it's bigger than the title shot. He's been chasing Khamzat for a while, and has said he'd take him even overweight. Belal ain't turning down Khamzat for any other reason than he's been led to believe he might be the next choice behind Usman. That's all I can figure. But if they cement any fights, he's down to fight Leon or Khamzat.

Khamzat has avoided Belal for Diaz before though, so it's a pretty comparable level. That's why I think Belal should be picked over Khamzat. If you have 2 number 1 contenders to pick from, you pick the guy who actually is interested in fighting the other, and that's Belal.
