they're pants? They look a lot like shorts. Do they even have the rubber nut patch for tighter arm bars like the shorts?

Yeah they are gi pants. Sprawl took the technology they have developed in shorts and put them into gi pants. They have the flex panel in the crotch. Plus they are mesh lined.

Hmm.. not sur if I would call an elastic waste and a drawstring "technology" but I am curious about these things. I thought they would do something different but it looks like the same fastening system as the shorts. However, Gi pants are tugged at much differently than shorts.. Curious to how they hold up or look with a gi top on.

I was thinking they were overpriced as well but now im thinking they are not. A good pair of fight shorts will cost you about about $40-$45. These seem to be really good fight shorts made in to pants. My main concern is how they look with in a full gi and how they hold up to grabbing and pulling involved in gi jiu jitsu.

Just pick the size based on the site description and your size, even a moron can figure it out. Man are you that anal?

So long as they meet the "fit" requirements they should be fine

You obviously don't realize how much user feedback is often times more accurate than sizing charts, do you?

If you ever buy a pair of Jaco Resurgence shorts you should "Just pick the size based on the site description and your size" and tell me how that works out.
