Long shot: Anyone used Mono as a compiler?

Recently started using Mono, and on the off chance any programmers here have experience with it, was wondering if anyone could suggest some GUI libraries that are quick and easy to integrate?

I had a friend that contracted mono one time. He said it really sucked.

I’ve had mono before. It took a month to finally feel normal. I would not recommend it.

Most of my work day I use Unity, but recently started using Mono separately too. Seems to be easier to make winforms style stuff outside the Unity environment, but curious about other GUI options too.
