I don't get the hype about this guy, some even went so far and put him in the title mix. Lombard is dangerous in the pocket, he throws some powerful wild hooks but he has no footwork, kicks, no set up or combinations to get inside, he,s flatfooted. Anybody with a decent footwork, low kicks and a jab would pick this guy apart easily.
And please don't talk about silva vs lombard, it would be embarrassing, silva would toy with this dude

Not being able to beat Anderson doesn't make him overrated. I see some awesome fights at 185 for him

    Bisping, belcher, vitor, weidman etc

I think he'd take out belcher and maybe bisping

Didn't Dana want him at 170?

Hector is a threat to anyone.

You are basing this off his 1st UFC fight.

He's a beast and will be a threat to top contenders at MW.

He's a cat smasher. Let him fight Leben. Or winner of Wand Stann.

I thought in the Palhares fight any good counter puncher would rip him to pieces, saying that he seems to have some power a bisping fight would be interesting as bisping has a very good jab and circles well but always looks susceptible to a power puncher.

In order to call him 'overrated' it would help if you defined how 'rated' you think people believe he is, and how you rate him.

Lombard is not a beast, he just looks like a beast, a game plan to beat him is so simple, he will get exposed very soon

he may not be a technical striker, but his power and explosiveness kinda compensate for that. you also forgot to mention his extensive judo background, the guy has great takedowns, top control and gnp, he may get taken apart on the feet but he's more than capable of taking a lot of guys down and beating them up there.

    i don't think he'd beat silva, but he's a top 10 MW for sure.

So where would you rank him at 185 exactly?

    I think most would say he's a boarderline top 10 fighter (8-12), I don't see a problem with that.

This, before the Palhares fight he was extremely underrated around here. Even since not much has changed. He doesn't seem to have the biggest fan base and people just assume that since he's fought the majority of his career outside of the UFC that he must suck regardless of his impressive credentials, skill set, record and exciting fight style.

think bisping would ud him easily. anderson would murder him. all those wild hooks and 1 laser guided straight punch would drop him

"Flatfooted" "Bad footwork". lol. Nevertheless, his stand up is quite effective. He has done quite well standing even against strikers like Mousasi and Shlemenko. He can keep distance quite well and is also able to close the distance quite well and swing those hooks of his with his chin down. He also manages to bait his opponents close and throws good counters by just standing flat footed. Many fans would probably say many of his opponents whom he has KO'd have better footwork. Of course, he would probably lose against Anderson especially if he tried to stand with him. His best chance would be to force Anderson against the cage and swing hooks at him, chin down. Lombard probably has a good chin, I've never even seen him rocked.

Against other top 5 MWs, Lombard would probably do well. Actually, I think he's a bad match-up for Weidman with his good takedown defense and good counters. Bisping, on the other hand, is a bad match-up for Lombard, IMO. Bisping moves very well and does not look for the KO. That could lead to a similar fight as Lombard had against Boetch. Then again, we saw how well Wanderlei did by just brawling and swinging hooks at Bisping; almost every time Wanderlei did it, he dropped or rocked Bisping in their fight. If Lombard does this, instead of looking for a counter, his chances are good.

How could anybody make a statement like that already? If you have only seen his 2 UFC fights, you really don't know what your talking about. I doubt he would beat Silva, but then who can? So far nobody!

I guess being selected to box for Cuba against every other kid in the country is because he cant box and is flat footed( power). You have no idea what your talking about. His footwork is awesome if you consider he is trying to keep the fight standing

I hope your not basing your judgement on him from his 2 outings in the UFC. If so go do some homework.
