I thought Lombard would be kept on the outside all fight but he did a great job for the first round before fading.

I honestly thought Lombard had this in the bag after Magny went down in round 1. Real shame his cardio let him down, even in round 2 when Lombard was gassed he still managed to land that right hand that put Magny down again.

Would love to see Lombard bounce back from this, he's late into his career but he's still an absolute monster who can put on some great fights.

The reach difference was not remotely a problem for him. He nearly committed felony manslaughter the minute the bell rang.

What held him back is he has about two, maybe three minutes of gas in the tank and he's built like a cartoon character, coming off a PEDS suspension.

Huh... the man was a huge favorite!

He had no excuse to lose this fight. As he showed in the first round, reach is the only advantage Magny had. Hector screwed himself in this by having no gas, and I wonder why that was??? No stamina power-up lemonade this time eh Hector!?

Vegas odds are as reliable as MMA Math

You're both idiots. The fight was practically even odds, and Magny closed the slight favorite.

6 inches height advantage, 9 inches reach advantage, 10 years youth advantage. Still got wrecked, knocked down 3 times almost finished twice and could not finish a gassed out zombie after 3 minutes of non-stop pitter patter from mount.

Why does that make me an idiot? I just took him at his word and responded that MMA odds are not reliable, you're just such a loser in life that whenever you get something right it goes straight to your head.

It makes you an idiot because Vegas odds are reliable. You stated something that was not only untrue, but something so obviously ridiculous that you would have to be a complete idiot to believe it, let alone say it.

I don't think Hector has ever fought so ferociously in the first round. Im assuming he put all his "chips in" but couldn't cash out.

Still got the finish.

I really wouldnt say his cardio let him down, any fighter would have been gassed after pouring it on the way he did.

I'm not referring to it as a betting favorite - I'm talking about actual fight fans. Nobody could honestly think Magny was going to win unless a bummy version of Lombard turned up, and I guess that happened.

Lombard with a better gas tank wins that fight 10/10.

A lot of people envisioned the fight being a less extreme version of what actually happened. Lombard coming out like a house of fire and then Magny weathering the storm and taking the last 2 rounds. I don't think anybody saw Magny surviving that type of beating in round 1 and Lombard looking like Dada at the end of the fight

Reach is nice and all but you still have to train to be able to implement it. Magny's game has come a long way and still has alot of room for improvement. He could have came out of that fight with alot less damage.

That doesn't take away from his performance. It was a great fight, he showed a ton of heart, even had a badass mounted triangle attempt(which he actually lost to vs. Moraes), and drowned Lombard in deep water

He was not the favorite...

I thought Lombard would run thru him and still would pick him in the rematch. If he had backed away and allowed magny to stand,he would of dropped him again and the ref should of intervened though i believe that ref wanted to see the first death in mma.

In Vegas at fight time? No, you're right, he wasn't.

Much like Jose Aldo was an underdog against Conor, which honestly - was pretty much bullshit. Going by the evidence we had available there was no reason to think Conor would have "more of a chance" at winning than Jose.

Hector, in the MMA community is clearly a favourite over Neil Magny, especially when Magny got wrestlefucked by Maia and had a razor close one with Gastelum.

I personally think Hector was a reasonable favourite here. If Hector wasn't, then why such shock that Neil Magny of all people beat him? Because it was a surprise, surprising because he's was an underdog - at least in my book.
