Recently I heard Floyd Mayweather was kind of hurtin' for money due to excess spending and gambling and due to this he was interested in another fight with Conor Mcgregor. I don't know if any of that is true and honestly I don't really care. Personally I think the better fight would be Floyd vs Lomachenko, that's certainly the fight I would rather see. My questions for the folks here on sherdog are, do you think Lomachenko vs Floyd would or could outsell Mcgregor vs Floyd 1? Would you rather see Lomo vs Floyd fight than Conor vs Floyd fight again? Obviously Floyd has a much safer fight with Mcgregor but personally I think if marketed properly Lomachenko vs Floyd would be one of the biggest selling fights ever, and I think at this point that may be more important to Floyd than another bullshit fight with the loud talking irish MMA fighter.

We'll never see it for several reasons. Lomachenko has yet to fight on PPV. Floyd would also be too big (he's a natural 140 IMO) that's up there in age too. That and he hasn't fought a live opponent in many years. There would be no point in returning to fight a guy that's a natural Super Featherweight that isn't a big draw. The risk would be higher than the reward mainly because Lomachenko would have to move up a couple more weight classes to meet him at Welterweight or a catchweight.

How about Canelo vs. Tyson Fury?
I'll take Canelo in a nip & tuck affair. Fury himself admitted that his toughest opponents have been smaller fighters like Cunningham. As long as the ref doesn't allow Fury to constantly lean on Canelo because it's the only way he could potentially beat him. It's sort of weird how Fury doesn't mention Canelo's name after fights. It's almost like he's avoiding him.

Because hes's smart and knows his limits... I also never hear him mention Kubrav Pulev.

It’s a gimme fight for Floyd
If he had balls he would fight inoue
If it was marketed right it would be the biggest fight in history

Lets stop acting like lomachenko isn't fighting cans

Exactly Loma is 1. a fighter that didn't had cans in pro ring with him
2. a pro boxer that had fastest track in pros for climb up
3. Loma is also most accomplished in amateurs from all currently active pro boxers with amateur record 396-1 and 2 times Olympic Gold medalist.
There are Loma's pro boxing fights.

who from these his opponents is a can?

In his pro debut Loma had in ring opponent with 25-3-0 pro record.
This is unique case for pro debut guy.

You just hate Loma, maybe because he isn't from US or for some other reason.
Maybe cos Loma was TRUE WORLD TOP 1 amateur ultra - superstar?

No.
More possible that Mcgregor vs Floyd 2 might outsell this variant.
Different fanbases ( large MMA fanbase & large boxing fanbase ) + a lot long public talks before fight ( months ).

Nah Mayweather is too big and Lomachenko isn't a draw so the fight wouldn't make sense. Lomachenko wouldn't be prepared to move up in weight and Floyd wouldn't be able to make 135lb anymore so it's a non-starter.

Gregor had large MMA fanbase + plenty of other MMA fans were interested to see MMA guy fight with a boxer.
Floyd = large boxing fanbase still does know his name, there also very high wievership.

Maybe for Floyd more Money might be generated if he will get fight with another MMA guy, the more well known, the better.

I love how every few years Floyd sends his people out to convince people hes "broke and hurting" so he can tease coming out of retirement.

Then he does. Works every time. Hopefully he gets a pac rematch in instead of tenshin this time

Lomachenko is just a good athlete and Mayweather is a unique fighter

Whether you think he's #1 P4P or not you gotta admit he's an entertaining fighter.

He's only had 15 pro fights and calling them cans is obviously nonsense just because they weren't world beaters (most aren't world beaters). In his last 4 fights alone in a division he isn't even a natural-sized fighter in he's beaten a three-division titleholder and Ring Magazine champion (division's #2 fighter) for his strap, a two-division titleholder for his strap, a former LW titleholder and mandatory, and in his last fight he beat a much bigger man than himself who was an Olympic champion, world title challenger, and Top 10 contender for the vacant WBC strap. In his next fight he'll be unifying 3 of the 4 world titles in what will also be a lineal championship bout with Lopez (#1 vs #2).

Channeling @Seano

Now or fantasy in prime?

Either or Floyd KO'd him and ends the HOMOchenko love of his fanboys.
