It's been stated by some even before Lomachenko had his first fight with Salido. Would i be wrong for thinking that he's not there yet?

I've been taking some heat by a certain overzealous poster for giving what i think was a fair, critical analysis of Lomachenkos skills. I guess you can't give a run of the mill critique about a fighters abilities these days without being continuously accused of maliciously having it out for him. Which i feel is ridiculous.

Well, he's certainly more fun to watch than the other 3 mentioned:cool:

True.

But no he's not even in the top 10. Not even close. 2-1? C'mon now. I understand he had a great amateur record. But so did Floyd, Rigo, and Ward. He's not in the top 10 of the pro ranks. And I like Loma.

no, i dont even think his dad would support that notion. he is however a great talent from a very interesting boxing nation in amateur boxing right now, and he has an exciting style.

i applaud him for doing something off the charts, even if he is losing the match. it required balls although it was dumb.

maybe some day in the future he can be a top fighter?

edit: and in arguments and discussions, it is very easy to shoot someone down taking what they say at face value or misinterpreting it to make them look stupid. its however cheap. i am sure if we try to interpret what aries and others are saying in good nature, that they more are talking about potential and talent, and get overzelous and stressed when defending their position against several posters - writing some verbose statements.

why would u not put pac in front of him? and no hes not on any top 10 p4p list. That would be ludicrous

Time will tell, but the guy has amazing talent, the guy is only 26, How many pro boxers are two time olympic gold medal champions and World champions at that age?
Now Vasyl is going to acquire pro experience by fighting the best in the division, he will target Donaire, Walters, Gradovich and Jhony Gonzalez in the near future

Yes, 2-1 Lomachenko, who's best win has been described as a "can crusher" is top 5 P4P.
I have him at # 4 right behind Floyd, Ward and Salido.

As much as certain posters who can't hear a word against him are annoying, he is definitely a special talent, and he seems like a decent guy, as well. He'll likely be an elite fighter at some point. I'm not sure how far away that point is as of yet.

If a person wants to say that they think he is one of the top talents in the sport right now, then thats an opinion and we all have those.

But to say he's pound for pound one of the best fighters in the world right now is nonsense. Pound for pound ratings are based on accomplishment. Not promotion.

This sums it up right here.

You were in that thread along with the other nuthuggers that disappear without a trace, you know. And Aries did exactly said that. It is not exactly an interpreting issue when it is a quote lifted off directly from it.

At this point i'm not even mad at the guy now. More like mad at his followers.

He will likely be a great fighter in a few fights once he beats more notable opposition, and I do see a lot of talent in him. But he's getting so much hype for beating a literal can crusher it's ridiculous.

Most of his hype isn't because he beat GRJ (who had a fair amount of his own hype to begin with). Pretty much all the hype comes from the amateur background. Salido was 4 to 1 against him after a single fight, after all (and I missed out on making money on Salido by only making a bet on Salido by KO or TKO and flat out forgetting to a bit on him outright).

Ronnie Shields and Sugar Ray Seales were incredible amateurs too. On the other hand, so were Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns.

We haven't seen enough of Lomachenko against pro competition to be making any decisions.

I don't disagree with you. I'm just saying that his crazy hype isn't down to beating GRJ.

I'd wager that it is his gaudy record and his nationality that hyped him that much.
