This is a new and original thread idea.

Not to mention that's before taxes, insurance, AC fees, gym fees, training camp expenses, and manager's cut all come out.

95% of them are not really professional athletes. At best you could argue there semi-pro or enthusiast

Other pro sports have more viewers, bigger fan bases, more sponsors etc which equates to more money, although 8 grand is pretty poor being a new fighter signed to the UFC doesn't automatically mean you deserve millions, you have to earn it.

I know right? Getting punched in the face while millions of people watch you for almost the same pay as regular educated working adult. This is amateur sport. Just look at other sports, dudes are getting guaranteed millions for kicking or throwing balls around.

The 8k/8k guys aren't the ones doing it full time. They're the ones working a nice, likely gym-related job on the side, and just use fighting to supplement their income/have fun competing.

....Still not worth the CTE though

I'd be fine with the $8K/$8K if they scrapped Reebok and went back to allowing fighters to chose sponsorships. That's where the lower level fights used to make their cheddah.
