Ok, so after seeing the new LLF gi's I imediatly fell in love with the black diamond version. I went to their website and saw it was on sale for $89.99 and thought hell yea, I clicked order and it took me to the world martial arts website. So I continued the purchase, it came to shipping, so I selected USPS at $31.50 vs the $50 for ups. I ordered it last saturday, and it shipped on monday, when I got my email saying it shipped they had shipped it ups. I was upset because I didn't want the duty fees and such. So I called them and they were nothing but nice, they explained that they've been having trouble shipping gi's with USPS across the border so they sent it ups with no extra charge which was nice because I knew it would come sooner. It arrived yesterday and there was a duty fee of $50. My jaw hit the floor I was completely astonished that this was possible. I reluctantly paid the driver, and brought the gi to the basement to open and try out. As soon as I opened the box I was blown away for how beautiful it was, I know it's not for everyone but I like bling, now this isn't as loud as it seems in picture but it does stand out. The stitching is flawless, the taping is beautiful, every little detail is perfect. There is all the reinforcements where you'd expect them. I'm blown away. The pants are double thick in the knees, with triple stitching everywhere, there's six loops for the draw string. It's got all the bells and whistles that I could want. The only thing it doesnt have is an id/mouthguard/iPod pocket, no big deal really. Now for size I ordered an A2, I'm 5'11 and 165 lbs. The pants fit perfect, the jacket is a little long in the sleeves but other than that fits perfect. Well that my initial thoughts, once I've had some time to roll in it I can give it a proper review with pics. I'll probably upload a few pics within a few days. I have a feeling that this will be a little controversial so let's try to be civil. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions. Thanks Kyle

I was actually looking at getting either the vital or the skyblue because of the price $89.99. But that really sucks about the $50 duty. Have you contacted them about resolving this? If they cant get that resolved, I think Im going to have to rethink buying one of those Gis from them. Im definitely willing to try out a new Gi for $90 but for around $150, there are many many great Gis in that range that are competition proven that I would much rather spend my $ on.

are you sure that there isnt an interior pocket? cause on the website, they say that its supposed to be there. ohh, i also wanted to know if the pants tie is rope cord or flat drawstring? their description just says cotton drawstring, but they got pics of both flat drawstring and rope cord... kinda confusing.

anyways, really hoping to hear your extended review and to see some pics!

At least from the product website, the gis look very nice for the price. Let us know how it holds up in training. Also, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind posting actual gi measurements too? (sleeve end-to-end length, jacket width, pant length, etc)

I'll contact them Monday to see If there's anything they can do, which there probably isn't since it's ups right. But you never know. But if you are thinking about getting it and you live in Canada it's a $170 gi. Which if I had of know that I would've just ordered a break point. Don't get me wrong though it's still an awesome gi.

The id pocket is non-existent, but it's no big deal really. The drawstring is flat cotton it seems well made though.

I'll be able to take some measurements this afternoon for you guys. And hopefully some pics if I can figure out how to upload them lol.

These look pretty nice, not as bling as the originals but with nice accents. for $90 I'd give it a try. I'm on the fence about the black or the blue. I'd be interested in the cut how baggy the body is and how long the skirt is. I usually take an A3 because of sleeve length, I had issues with the breakpoint, skirt was WAAAAAY too short. I'm 5'8 and it barely stayed in my belt with an A3.

I just want long sleeves, slim jacket, long skirt lol but not judo long.

AgentFish, if you want long and slim then get a Keiko Raca.

@fish I have a 69.5 reach finger tip to finger tip, and this jacket comes about 2 inches past my wrist so it's probably around 63 inches from cuff to cuff but like I said I'll get measurements up later
And it has a pretty long skirt as well

@tiger.shark I almost got a keiko, but they're a little pricey

@Kyle sounds like it might be good, my ideal sleeve to sleeve is about 66in after shrinkage so an A3 might fit well, these are highly appealing.

@fish an a3 pant may be too long at 5'8 though as the a2 fit me perfectly at 5'11 but then again I have really wonky measurements lol....they are a 'wow' gi way nicer in person than on the website

Are the pants cotton or ripstop? A2 pants are a touch small for me, but ripstop doesnt shrink, my best fitting pants are the heavyweight cotton ones in A3 that I nuked in the dryer 3-4 times.

has anyone here actually even tried the *Eat *Pray *Love* gi???? seemed like the bastard child of waldorf and lucky gi.

K so here are some measurements

Cuff to cuff - 67 inches
Shoulder to skirt - 31.5 inches
Arm pit to arm pit - 25 inches
Collar is 3/8th thick

Pant leg outside length - 40 inches
Crotch to ankle cuff - 26 inches
Waist - 20 3/4

All measurements were taken on a flat surface

Pics to come

...

Thanks a lot! Looks like the gi runs big compared to most other brands. I think they should revise their sizing chart a bit. A LiveLoveFight A2 would definitely be too big for me even though I'm usually an A2.

Hopefully the new ones are made better... I have their last model... I got it for 112 shipped when they ran a 50% sale and I would not recommend their gi's. I have multiple threads coming loose and I roll gi maybe 1-2 times a week. If I was a big gi player, I would hate this gi even more because it would be in shreds by now. Mine could be a fluke?

@cow ya on they're sizing chart I ran near the top on height and middle on weight and it's close to a glove on me being 5'11 and 165-170 depending on what I eat lol

@freestyler I've now spent 90 min or so rolling in my basement with a buddy and everything seems good so far no complaints from me. I saw your thread before which made me weary of the purchase but when I pulled it out of the bag I inspected almost every stitch and it seems like it'll last some time.

ok so total you paid $170? Shipping was from canada to the states right? Or was it the opposite way? I'm very interested in how it holds up in the long run...

They need to get their product description & photos in order. Always good ti know exactly what the hell youre buying before you throw down the scratch.

I've found the easiest way to get pics on forums is to use a host site like photobucket. That way you can just paste the embedded code in your posting.

Sounds like A2 will fit me perfectly. I have a killer bee gi in A2, my only complaint about the sizing, shoulder to skirt is about 28in, I think an extra 3 in of skirt would make the fit perfect. Now I just have to decide blue or black lol

@flawless it shipped from new York state to Ontario, probably a 5 hour drive in total.

@fish I'm glad that the messurements helped, as for color choice, that's tough either way you'll be happy.
