So guys, here is the results of this event, who was not able to see Malaipet vs Liam Harrison, here is his fight uploaded on youtube, close fight and one of the best fights of the year for sure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BQCzf3K4CI Another cool thing to see was the young Rungrat flying with his knee to Ross face,it was brutal! Liam Harrison def. Malaipet Sasiprapa by split decision (48-47, 49-46, 50-46) Tiffany Van Soest def. Martyna Krol by unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-44)
Decent fight but IMO not one of he best fights of the year. Good job on Malaipet to make it competitive. Glad Ross paid for that elbow. He throws that a lot and it was only a matter of time before it came back to bite him in the butt. He telegraphs it and quite frankly he's not fast enough to be doing it. The end result is him with his back to the opponent and open for all sorts of stuff in return. If he's not grabbed like that he's still got a possible wide open head kick on the way.
50-46. :icon_lol: [YT]YY_-EKPYfNA[/YT] Ross loses are just painful to watch at. Dude gets sliced up every fight.
I'm not trying to say Toddy is legit or anything. But it does seem Kevin Ross isn't as good as he used to be when he was training under Toddy. Guess he shouldn't have left Toddy.
There was another Rungrat that started to fight in the stadiums around the time Norasing Luknbanyai did but I can't remember his name. A few years back they had a big side bet on one of his fights like 2 million baht. It has nothing to do with this thread just trying to remember his name.
Kevin looked decent, he was outboxing Rungrat badly, who didn't look too good himself, but Ross fights too much like a boxer sometimes and a spinning elbow is a difficult technique, you don't just go YOLLO and throw in whenever, wehrever like that.
Ya he's all gassed up over that spinning elbow because his training partner Gaston is taking guys out with it. He's not the same fighter tho. Thais are better at seeing that shit coming too.
He doesn't move his legs a lot of times, but just turns his upper body. Does the same thing a lot. Against Sagetdao he was fortunate to get out of the way. Sagetdao might get the head kick KO if he throws it as Ross walks off without defending himself. 5:50 Here he gets stuck in a similar situation as he was against Rungrat but manages to get a takedown. 8:30 Somrak...
Both Romie and Ross are pretty much boxers, rather than Muay Thai fighters, or at least sometimes they make that impression.
anytime they actually face someone decent they fall back on their boxing because they just can't compete weapon for weapon with their opponents. They both have horrible footwork and defense that put in in terrible situations. I guess mcgowan did not last long at petchyindee. So much for that hige push they tried to give him Does anyone know why andy howson didn't fight romie? He was cornering for liam
He cornered McGowan too, Howsons retired though, neck injury, he was robbed when he fought Adanza last time.
Ross and a lot of the fighters that come out of some of these American gyms seem to be open to getting cut with elbows or raped with knees. Such long boxing combinations and lots of head, body. Sneak an elbow in to disrupt a punch combo and slice him up, or if he gets too low with the body rips, start bringing the knees up into the head. guys with this boxing heavy style shouldn't fight elbow and clinch fighters. EDIT: Kickers and distance fighters are more fair matchup for punchers though.
