Also, do you get job offers on there? I’ve gotten several but they don’t read my profile too carefully. Have had 3 offers for 80, which would be quite a cut. Have been politely saying thanks but no thanks

LinkedIn is better for funding employment opportunities than any of the job boards. Companies use it to find talent. I work in sales and get hit up by recruiters, start ups, etc every so often without ever actively trying.

Its weird now, the whole point is for job search and recruitment, now that they allowed sharing and posting like any other social media platform its gone full retard

LinkedIn is the only social media platform I use, and I don't mind the sharing of articles. People's contacts in LinkedIn tend to be colleagues and people in their field, and in my experience, most of what makes it to me on LinkedIn is at least somewhat relevant to my work. Your mileage may vary.

I have a Linked in Profile but I never used it. I used it once 4 years ago when I was looking to get a new job.

Whenever I log in I have like a 100 new messages but it's all recruiters.

Just more hell like facebook. It is the back-up plan.

yeah I was also a bit surprised when I found how big Linkedin has gotten but apparently when you are on the job market its pretty useful...also if you have your own business and your clients or somebody you meet want to know about you, linked in shows up pretty high on a google search... I opened one several years ago, I dont use it that much if at all but I think I should make it a little bit prettier than what it is right now just in case somebody wants to use it as a reference of me or my work

Have gotten a ton of job offers off there and I think 2 jobs before. If someone posts some stupid political shit on there I just remove them as a contact.

Recruiters who hit me up through LinkedIn are t very good. Often hitting me up for stuff I'm not qualified or too inexperienced for, which they would know if they skimmed my profile for a few minutes.
