Punching power. He ain't got heavy hands, and HWs do. He knows his style won't translate well against heavier more powerful strikers and that sooner than later he'll be KO'd by someone.

So, odds are he's never coming up to HW, unless it's against a wrestler who's not a striking threat to him.

I don't think he's scared of DC, but at this point, they have to have a specific reason they have never moved up

Pretty hard to be a GOAT hiding out in a lighter division when you beat a buy who's now the HW champ twice, and you roided just to fight that guy.

That's a very likely reason for why Jones never went to the Heavyweight Division. As for finding the ideal opponent who isn't too much of a striking threat against him, seems to me that Brock Lesnar would be tailor made for that. Not only is Lesnar a wrestler, but he's also the man who Jones would make the most money fighting.

I'm also curious as to the "why" of it. A guy his size with his talent would naturally want to gravitate to what is considered by all but hard core fans as the most prestigious division. Then he could truly be promoted as the "the baddest" whatever, and it could more easily carry over to outside promotion. In other words, it would be worth a ton of bucks both in the near term and further down the road.

With that said, I have no problem with any champion staying in their weight class when they have no problem making the weight.

At HW, if you don't have a real punching threat, you'll be slept. And even if you have a punching threat, you might still get slept.
