[email protected] (making progress with pushing knees forward and keeping everything tight, getting a tad bit lower doing that now, and these are still super easy... more flexibility work than anything, but if i can keep this position upright and push it lower and lower, I'll be able to actually get under the clean much more easily... so while it's not hard, it's helping my clean go up)

Game in 2 days vs. High School Old Boys, who won the premier competition last year. We'll see how it goes. I'm playing on the wing, and I really like it.

I'm a NONU fan, homey. Hurricanes are my friend's adopted team. When we first got here he stopped in Welly for a bit and I went straight to Canterbury to play in the metro. Settlers' rivalry.

NO I DIDNT SEE THE GAME WHAT HAPPENED LOL?

I don't have that therr SkyTV over here.

    @Mom: WTF?

I think several factors are contributing to my stalled out cleans.
    1) Form. I can't has it. This is partially due to shoulder positioning, but partially just my brain not doing a great job of telling my body what to do. It's better than most bros on youtube or whatever, but I don't do a great job of jumping it UP and instead use my deadlift muscle memory as soon as the weight gets heavy and drag it BACK.
    2) I am trying my best to eat, and I drank 114g of milk protein last night in one sitting with a two steak meal. However, my conditioning and activity is high. Not that I has teh abz or anything, but I've lost 10lbs in two months despite lifting and eating like hell.
    3) The whole two masters thing. I guess losing weight and keeping the power constant is a good trade-off but damn is it frustrating. Summer sevens/off season here I come.

Damn. My team's Div1 side are 3rd in Canterbury metro competition. It's still early, but 2-0 with a good points margin and wins over the last year's champions and a perennial top-4 side is a good start.

My Div2 side is 1-1, but we did lose the last game largely due to a red-card forcing us to play 14-on-15 for about 40 minutes, despite us having a lead at the half. We have one of the best back lines in the Div2 competitions and just need to start getting some cleaner ball from the pack.

I don't know what Fozzy is talking about.
    Ever.

    I'm seeing some great results.

Broke the line and ditched everyone else about 6 or 7 times during touch yesterday.
Keep your power-clean the same, lose 17 pounds, condition your ass off for three months, and things get a lot easier. I kind of stepped out of my shell and decided not to be conservative and modest. After all, practice/fuckaround is when you're supposed to try out the ridiculous stuff. Ended up stepping and passing with 3X the ease it used to be, and I can get right back into the running after I push it. I've noticed definite improvements in explosiveness, first step and sustained speed. I also no longer fear the fitness like I used to. It just blends into the rhythm. I still get tired, even exhausted, but it just feels different. I'm excited as hell about it.

    Practice consisted of:

    20mins Touch
    (heavy warmup pace)
50mins back sequencing and team fluidity
(equivalent physically to a 40-75m sprint at 100% every 2 to 3 minutes)
    50m sprint x 10 w/5s rest intervals

All lies! you can't possibly run the backline at 100% sprint speed. and 5s rest intervals? What kind of sick fuck is coaching you?

Breezer I'm a wing. The centers pass and catch and cut at about 50-70%, but all you are in lots of the backline sequences as a wing is catching the long pass and being gone, or chasing wipers kicks.
