I do about 3-4 hours of Muay Thai Monday-Saturday (sometimes with an extra day or two off) but I was just wondering what would benefit me the most...Is it better to lift before or after training stand-up/cardio? Or does it not really matter? Dunno but I usually get on the benchpress, deadlifts, squats before training so my punches/kicks/knees have more explosiveness. But im not sure if this is the right thing to do if Im also looking to gain mass. Im scared I might be slowing muscle growth or some shit like that..Anyway any help/advice would be highly appreciated especially if you really do know what you are talkin about and not just guessing. Thx!

When doing mt 5x a week and you lift, dont expect to gain a lot of size, strenght you can gain, but size is hard to gain since you burn a lot of calories with the MT. Eating and resting good might help.

Do curls as much as you can,5x a week if possible, you dont want to let those peaks to fall out,I am not guessing either,I've read that if you dont do curls your bicep may shrink, and you dont want that to happen.

If 2 a days isnt possible, i would strongly recommend the skill training before the Strength training. If you are lifting like you should be, there's no way your kicks will be more explosive right after lifting. I would be as fresh as possible for the finesse and skill areas, and then back it up with strength training/plyometrics after

im in a situation where my bjj classes are in a side room at a gym
they go from 8-10pm
so i go in an hour early in do weights

I would life before, stick to the basic exercises like squats, bench presses, deadlifts, overhead presses, pullups and rows

differnt things work for different athletes, but out of curiosity, why would you lift before Muay Thai, Babyphenom?

I would be more burnt out if I do muay thai first since it requires more energy as compared to lifting which only taxes your creatine and anaerobic energy system

I lift heavy weights to try and gain maximum power n strength but yea it does make my punches n elbows more explosive if i do it like 30 mins before a session, that way my arms/legs feel a lot lighter and easier to throw kicks, also they seem to be stronger. I been seein some good results lately so i'm gonna stick with lifting before and just do bodyweight exercises like pushups and burpees afterwards.

But also maybe beginners or people who havent got great speed/skill already down then maybe lifting before wouldn't be the best as it doesnt make you as flexible. But i'm already pretty fast n flexible so lifting before is probly a good thing if you got everything else covered already.

I jst wanted 2 see others routines and opinions, thx peeps

Yeah, personally, it's looking like just going with a routine is what works. Mine personally is the skills (punching, kicks etc) then moving to the cardio, to the weights after. But I sometimes mix it up. I tihnk I may try what you've been saying.
