I just watched Liddell-Couture II for the first time. I have never seen Liddell fight before.

I am curious about Liddell's fighting stance against Couture. Here are my questions that I hope someone (who has seen more fights) can answer for me:

    1. Does Liddell alter his stance from fight to fight, based on the other fighter, or does he always look the same?

    2. Did he change his stance at all from Couture I to Couture II, since he was expecting Couture to trade standing, unlike the first fight when I read that he was more wary of takedowns?

How about you guys? Do you change your stance from fighter to fighter. I don't but I would think about it against guys with a left high kick like Crocop's.

I don't think he changes his stance that much if any for the second Couture fight, but he did change the way he moved. In the first fight he was backing up alot. In the second fight he was moving more side to side and wasn't staying in front of Randy.

I switch from an orthodox to southpaw stance when sparring and training. Would I do that in a fight, probably not but if I thought it would give me an advantage then I would. It would depend on the fight.

Agreed, it wasn't so much a change of stance, but that Lidell started sidestepping and circling away instead of going strait back when randy came forward.
