who has the best cardio in mma? worst cardio in mma? has there been an instance when a fighter quit a fight because he was so gassed out? fights where both guys where so gassed out that it was frustrating to watch. please discuss

Best - Cain
Worst - Erik Silva
Fighters quitting because of cardio - I don't know. People say Penn vs GSP, but that's bullshit.
Frustrating to watch - Kimbo Slice vs Houston Alexander

Cain does not have the best cardio in MMA wtf. he might have the best cardio in his division, but there are tons of other fighters in the lower divisions w/ better cardio.

Best - Probably MM. Dude could probably go 15 rounds.
Worst - Pudzinowski

I originally had Diaz, but p4p Cain is better. You expect the smaller guys to have good cardio, but you don't expect that kind of cardio from a 240lb HW. You could make a case for some HW like Ubereem having worse cardio than Silva, but again, dude is carrying 250 pounds of muscle. Is normal.

IIRC Gary Goodridge gave up due to exhaustion in one his old fights. Mighty mouse never seems to stop moving so his cardio is crazy.

Condit, both Diaz bros, Ben Henderson, Mighty Mouse (and the rest of flyweight division, honestly, but MM in particular), Cain, GSP.

When you think about who has the best cardio, you have to obviously compare them relative to their own division; picking Cain at top of the list is certainly reasonable as he has cardio that is on another level compared to the rest of the fighters that he competes against in his own weight class.

The fighters with best overall cardio imo are,

Diaz Brothers, Cain, Bisping, Guida, Frankie, MM

(These are first that come to mind for me, I'm sure I am missing some.)

what the hell are you even saying? just because you don't expect hw's to have good cardio means that Cain's cardio is better than everyone's in MMA? that's great logic.

Holy fuck, seriously? Basically, I'm saying P4P Cain has the best cardio. Sort of like how Aldo is the best P4P fighter.

Benson knows how to pace himself the best which makes him appear to have superior cardio especially at his size.

Mighty Mouse is up there.

Cain is good at his size but his opponents rarely dictate the pace through movement so it's really hard to accurately say if he gets pushed.

Even when bensons opponents can dictate the pace, he knows how to outlast them through ring smarts and taking advantage of every opportunity to take short rest breaks that add up.

considering a smallish HW is moving around some pretty big opponents for 15-25 minutes, that's a fair perspective.

when you get down to lighter weights it seems like everyone has awesome cardio.

Well, he was tired. He was also getting the shit beat out of him. You could play either side.

MM is really close. It isn't only because he is a flyweight. He beat Benavidez in their first fight becuase he was exceptionally fresh in the 5th whereas Joe was almost gassed. He outclassed Dodson in the 4th and 5th because he was fresh in the 4th and 5th whereas Dodson was done. He has exceptional stamina for his division.

Edgar, Cain, Oliveira and Askren are a few others who come to mind. Condit and Diaz, as well. I actually think Condit could be rated higher than Diaz. As their fight went on, Condit was more and more the class.
