Just watched Countdown to UFC 197. Bones looks like an animal. He could move up to HW and be a huge threat too.

HW? Maybe, maybe not.

He gets clipped on the chin by someone like Hunto, he goes nite-nite just like anyone else imo.

His striking power may not bode well going up against the power of the top HWs.

I'd like to think that he'd be successful at HW, because it'd be very interesting, but...he's never clean KO'd anyone and that doesn't make me feel comfortable about his odds in a division where one punch from any fighter in the division can KO you. Jones would have to rely on getting bigger men to the ground and submitting them or going 3-5 rounds without getting clipped.

Is anyone convinced that he could go 5 rounds with Werdum, Cain, Overeem, Hunt, or JDS without getting clipped?

Unless people constantly bring up Weidman's ratio right along with Jones they pretty much out their agenda. Then again your entire existence here is agenda and bullshit driven.
Sure, Cormier's and Weidman's were also suspect. I thought this thread was about Jon Jones. Where was Weidman mentioned?

To be fair it's not like Werdum is out there KOing people left and right.

He's also never been finished and handled Cormier, who does just fine at HW, pretty well.

Wasteland this shit thread. We're talking about Conor today.

It's called multitasking. Congratulations on trying it by replying to this thread :)

Bullshit wasteland, this is legit UFC discussion. Take your Irish nuthugging elsewhere if you don't like it.

To be fair he did KO Hunt, who is basically the closest thing to impossible to KO there is, with a freaking flying knee.

Yes and Jones rocked Machida and Rashad and Gus so he can hurt people with strikes. I'm talking overall career here. Hunt took that fight on short notice and in Mexico City against a fully prepared Werdum.

No but he KO'd Mark freakin Hunt. I think he could hurt Jones for sure

No doubt he could hurt Jones. Mark Hunt took that fight on short notice and was fighting in Mexico City he was gassed in the first round. Being gasses severely affects your ability to take a punch.

Everyone has been fawning over the extra mass but bulking up like this isn't always good. Especially at the higher weights. Look how sluggish Roy Jones looked against Ruiz and what happened when he went back to LHW.

I'm not just talking about him putting on muscle. Watch his padwork, I mean he was already imposing to begin with but wow he is gonna be a handful.

OSP is definitely a freak athlete too but still.

Followed up by the long hiatus... Only fought in one USADA fight(which UFC hid results for aswell)...

I don't think he's dirty, but something doesn't smell right.

This is his first post-USADA fight.

He bulked up, but stopped Heavy lifting and lost a lot of muscle during camp. He was 240, down to 228 like 8 weeks out, dieted down to 220ish on Fight Week.
