if you dont have a 35+ fight win record with lets say 5+ title defenses, you should never be in the conversation of greatest off all time. Period. While were at it any fight should fight at minimum 3+ times a year to be considered relevant.

So GSP with 25 wins is out of the conversation as is Jon Jones.

Well GSP is out of the conversation because he needed to cheat to beat a blown up LW (grease gate) and only fought favorable stylistic matchups. The consensus is that Jones is the best fighter ever with the best resume, hence he is the GOAT

Clearly they weren't that great if they couldn't fight 35 times.

TS attempts to exclude McCloner, inadvertently excludes GSP & Jones too...

Uh...okay. We're gonna bring up GSP's alleged "greasing" incident, but we're gonna ignore Jones' eye pokes?

lol fuckin' Jones fans. I swear.

u think gsp is the greatest fight of all time.......? not saying hes bad but there are other people who knock him down the list fast, but i do agree that may be tru in his weight class. and sorry no jon jones messed his own career up had he not he would be in the criteria of what im describing he only has his self to blame

To be in the GOAT talks you simply need to be one of the greatest MMA fighters ever. Records most certainly help establish that, but quantity of wins isn't nearly as impressive as quality of wins. I think your criteria are not only too stringent but misdirected.

Everyone already knows it's between 3 or 4 guys. Anyone outside those guys regardless of record shouldn't be in the conversation.

sorry buddy goat dont lose in the prime of their career and were talking of all time and hes already got threee loses,,,, but dont act like hes not gonna be around for awhile and very well could defend 5+ times just dont jump the gun too soon thats just fan boy talk

for real. were talking greatest fighter of all time here people say conor but he couldnt beat one person jon jones has ssoooooooo who better in that scenario ?

That narrows the field quite a bit.

Fedor meets the criteria.
Anderson, GSP and Aldo don't have enough wins.

We're done here.

Alright mods. Sticky the thread. A whitebelt has made a new rule.

It's okay TS.
We can just say to be the GOAT you have to defend your belt.

i completely agree lets say hypothetically conor and fedor had the same EXACT record fedor would always be better cause of the guys hes fought which conor would never be able to fight those guys its not a bad thing but it just facts if there are guy u cant beat u are not the greatest fight of all time IMO when it comes to record and quality of fights a heavy weight will always be top dog

While I think Conor is nowhere near being in the GOAT conversation other than for trolls, I think if he amassed a record similar to Fedor's his size wouldn't count against him.
