lets look at the facts

Since Jon Jones has become champion he's fought nobody other than the number 1 contender over and over again apart from the short notice fight against Chael. His one loss is by DQ from illegal elbows.

Now lets look at Khabib. Only has 3 fights against opponents who were top 5 at the time of the fight. And he won the title against Al. Jon won the title by putting away Shogun and being the youngest champ of all time. Granted Jones is a POS, obviously. But he is without a doubt the GOAT and its not even close. Khabib hasnt even past GSP or Anderson let alone Jones.

Undefeated, undisputed > Multiple PED busts and a loss to a deaf tuffer.

Crackhead jon mad salty Khabib is the unbeaten GOAT and he didn’t need juice to do it.

Why are you arguing who is GOAT between Jon and Khabib? Khabib only brought up being P4P best in the interview after the fight...

Lastly, how can you say "But he is without a doubt the GOAT and its not even close"...when it is close...Fedor, GSP, Jones, and tailing in the conversation (because he is still fighting) Anderson Silva. You're kinda putting Jones on this pedestal way above everyone when Jones has not fought clean his entire career.

Not to mention extremely close fights wherein people think he lost...Thiago, Reyes, Alex...

you clearly dont know the difference between facts and opinions.. its your opinion that it puts his career into question, not a fact.

No. It's a fact that it puts his career under a negative light.

The #5 guy at lw is often better than Reyes, Anthony Smith, old fat Rampage and etc etc.

Every champ has some "undeserving" contenders if they last long enough. You fight whatever the best option available at the time is.

Obviously.

But Jones fans talking shit about Al while listing utterly irrelevant LHW "title defenses" needs to be addressed.

Arguing that Jones is the greatest ever is valid. He is also the only man with a TKO win over USADA! His pulsing exemption or license to cheat forever has ended USADAs brief and potentially great career. USADA has high quality wins over machida, Mir, snakeshaw, Anderson Silva and many other greats but Jones was the first to definitively defeat and Finish USADA

GSP, Hughes, Anderson, Jones, Penn, et al. Deserve so much more credit for the frequency of their high level/title fights

Obviously.

Meh... most people are dumb and biased. Let them be dumb. Natural selection will weed them out.

Personally, I have much respect for any champ/contender who takes a defense against a "shit" opponent and risks it all for basically no reward other than a paycheck and the hope that their next opponent is someone better. At the end of the day, yes -- if you're trying to assess someone's legacy you have to weigh the strength of their schedule... but GSP having to fight Jake Shields, Anderson fighting Thales Leites, Jones fighting Anthony Smith... sometimes you've just gotta take care of business. Those guys all earned their shots, uninspiring as they were, and those champs proved themselves when they needed to against the best of their division. Al earned his chance... fuck the haters. Better to stay busy than sit on the sidelines.

That I agree with wholeheartedly.

Khabib is the greatest "what if" in the sport, surpassing Brock Lesnar.
What if he hadn't missed so much time to injury?
What if he had fought Ferguson?
What if he came into the UFC sooner?
Khabib is a year younger than Jones, he started his career 5 months after Jones, but by the time he made his UFC debut for his 17th fight, Jones had just defended his title for the second time in his 16th bout. By the time Khabib won his title, Jones set records for his division and was stripped 3 times.

Jon’s record is more padded than Khabib’s. His title defenses are against guys not in the top 5 lol. Khabib’s last 3 fights are impressive, all finishes against the true 2nd best of the division and either former champs or interim champs (Dustin beating Max Holloway is conveniently overlooked, Dustin is a championship caliber fighter, and Justin’s win over TFerg is more valuable than a title given TFerg’s presence at 155lbs.

Last 3, and honestly that's debatable as Conor was never tested at 155lbs, he's 1-1 in the division and 2-1 at WW facing guys that were never good enough to win a title at either weight. Khabib won the vacant title against the 4th or 5th option against a guy that didn't even make championship weight because he was on the prelims that night.

I agree that Jones is #1 and has the better resume. The real issue is his pettiness by inserting himself into the conversation during Khabib's retirement. If he's that confident in his status as the #1 fighter he shouldn't need to constantly ask for validation from strangers on the internet. The numbers and longevity are on his side, he's just a petty douche.

fedor has been knocked out and submitted, same as gsp and anderson. jones however has never been dominated, finished or lost. i hate to say it cus im more of a fan than everybody you stated over jones and its by a large margin. but if jon jones retired today he would without a shadow of a doubt have the best resume on paper and be considered the all time goat. there is an argument to be made for khabib but its an argument with very little supporting evidence and doesnt hold enough weight to Jones's career.
