Going forward doesn't always mean you're winning, a lot of fighters like to back up and counter, or get in and get out like Frankie Edgar. You can easily win a fight by backing up or side to side Carlos Condit clearly beat Nick Diaz by doing exactly that. I agree when it comes to fights like that terrible tyrone vs wonderboy fight because limited strikes were thrown and the only aggressive acts or the most aggresive act was Wonderboy moving forward the majority of the fight.

the guy pushing the pace and taking control of the octagon should be favored in scoring as long as its effective. they should also start penalizing fighters who are overly passive.

Judging the fights by round has its flaws. thats why the global MMA rules with use of yellow cards was awesome. also they could make the rounds longer so there will be more finishes.
