Let's be honnest, GSP would have ragdolled Anderson Silva

yeah probably. the timing on his entries was immaculate

GSP is second only to Jones in GOAT status, so yes.

I've been saying this for years.

Silva has never been great off his back, and GSP is relentless and elite in his ability to get the fight to the ground and control it.

he definitely could have. might have been the biggest fight of all time we'll never see. wish he'd had the balls to step up and try. and yes i know all about how he said he would have needed to bulk way up and stay there permanently and all that. i'm a huge fan of his but bullshit. plenty of other guys have stepped up and come back down again, he just didn't want the fight.

St Pierre and Silva were both opportunists when it came to moving up in weight, so they’re in the same boat.

Similar to how Silva didn't have the balls to fight Jones?

It goes both ways.

yeah but one did it repeatedly and one only did it once and right at the end, when it didn't really matter anymore. anderson did it in his prime, gsp did it just to be able to say he was a 2 division champ.

Odds at the time didnt suggested so.
Not even p4p rankings.

Anderson is a whole other level than the WWs Georges fought, no safe spots at long range or guard, where already struggled with Bisping.

GSP would be facing the best striker to catch him as Condit, BJ, Serra or Hendricks did and the hardest guard he ever had to deal with in MMA. Odds refflected so and if the match up didnt take place, it was because GSP refused to take it. Not like Dana stopped him as Aldo aiming for the LW belt. UFC actually encouraged it but Georges refused

Sonnen is alot bigger than GSP in Size. I dont agree.

If it was a winnable fight for GSP I think he would have taken it

If anything GSP's eventual move up was far more impressive than Anderson's.

The Irvin win was a squash match, and all respect to Forrest, but he was probably one of the most least competent LHW contenders of the last 15 years.

Was he tho? Forrest won back to back fights against Shogun & Rampage. Then he took two rounds off of Rashad before getting caught and losing the belt. Forrest was viewed as a legitimate top 5 LHW going into that fight. I think this is a case of Anderson making Forrest look so bad that it changed peoples perception of him forever.

Who underrates GSP grappling. I have seen lots of criticism of him on here, but I do not recall ever reading that one.

Maybe

Silva had amazing timing, though; and GSP has been KO'd.

While you may very well be wrong (like I said in another thread,) their approaches and skillsets were drastically different.

It comes down to who can establish their game plan and do damage first.

Do you mean "most least competent LHW" champions?

I think GSP would have won. But that’s not proof. And that’s why the one true GOAT discussion for male mma is dumb. None of those guys fought eachother. NONE.
