Let This Sink In, Cowboy Cerrone Will Be A UFC Hall Of Famer. LOL

He deserves it. He’s had a hell of a career. HoF doesn’t have to be only champs.

People need to stop shitting on Cowboy
Yep.

They ought to learn what HOF means too. It’s not the Hall of All Time Greats. Cowboy is a pioneer and a very active fighter, a WEC champ and multiple time UFC contender. He’s also very popular and holds a few UFC records.

Guy has the most wins in UFC history

Imagine not letting Dan Marino into the NFL HOF just because he never won a Super Bowl

New school/18y.o.> fans are the worst. Like first put some respect on that legends name. Thays all that SHOULD be said. But these guys shield their hot takes with ridiculous criteria; no W's, didn't have 5 million dollar fights, record doesnt have big enough names on Wikipedia.

Cerrone deserves to be in the hall of fame far more than Stephan fucking Boner does.
To be fair, it's only the Griffin-Bonnar fight that was inducted. Griffin, who was at least a LHW champ, was inducted as a fighter but not Stefan (RIP).

The problem is it's very subjective. How can Frank Shamrock (former champ with 4 title defenses) or Tim Sylvia (champ with 2 title defenses) not be in it while "one and done" champs like Forrest and Rashad are? Or Bisping with a joke of a title defense against 46-year old Hendo (that he almost lost)? Cerrone had great longevity and a number of records regarding wins/fights/etc. in the UFC, but do you rank him above actual champs...especially guys who defended their belts? What about other legends like Hendo (never held a belt but won a 1998 UFC tournament) and had great longevity...but fought a lot outside the UFC? Or Lawler and Belfort who are similar?

One of Hendo-Shogun's fights is in the HoF but not Hendo as a fighter.

Apples and oranges comparison because it's a team sport vs. individual, though. You can't expect one player on a team of 11 to beat another team single handedly.

Every UFC win is tough
McGregor cant even buy one with cherry picking nowadays

Conor hasn't had an easy MMA fight since like 2014-15 except maybe an old Cerrone. It doesn't matter what you think about Conor--he and Cerrone have fought very different levels of competition.

A guy who has been a stepped on almost every single time he was used as a stepping stone for another fighter. A guy who has folded almost every single time the pressure was turned all the way up.

The Hall Of Fame should be reserved for the ultimate conquerors. Meaning, fighters who became champions and then went on to clear their divisions.

You can't have guys like Cerrone, Bisping, Griffin and etc in the same Hall as guys like GSP, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and Demetrius Johnson.

Even Khabib and Tony are not yet Hall Of Famers in my ignorant opinion.

I agree cowboy is a ufc legend sure but should not be in the hall of fame they need to have hall of fame and a legends hall ..

To be a legend you need a long exciting career with accomplishments

To be a hall of Famer you need title defences well above the standard

LOL! Damn, it's like the first few posters all stepped on ban mines and cleared the path for the rest of us.
