alright sherbros... I’ve spent the last two months dealing with a kinked neck and achy back cause a pos cheap mattress..a mattress I have finally learned the hard way ,is literally one of the most import investments a man can make for quality of life.

I’m buying one within the next two hours(budget 800-1200)
Is my budget to low? Wifey said 2k but that’s a lot of money imo.

Need:
-Firm back support,I’m a carpenter by trade who lifts/swims 4-5 times a week.
-I’m 40
- enjoy fucking on a mattress that I don’t sink into...just being honest.
-won’t feel like shit in two years.
-no memeory foam
-pillow top optional

-GOOD return/warranty

Help a brother out, post up your opinions and pro or cons to mattress brands or types you have.

I got a good mattress on Amazon for 200 but that's me. Sounds like you'll have to go to a mattress store and test them out. Comfort is different for everyone.

I sleep on the ground so Im used to sleeping like that when Im homeless in a couple of years.

IKEA.....I shit you not....amazing selection, great price, good quality.....F the $2000..

You spend a lot of time in bed and quality of sleep is important a bed is one thing I don't care to splurge on

I read mistress instead of matress in the title. I got excited too.

I think sleeping on the ground is good for you.

But I just went camping and it was fucking uncomfortable. So now I'm adjusting my philosophy to say the firmest mattress you can buy is good for you.

I know you said no memory foam but it’s a harder mattress so I think you would like it.

Got a full size for my daughter and loved it so I bought the Cali king for my wife and I for $324.

I heard the sizes are fucked though, as in you need to buy the bedframe and sheets from Ikea too, otherwise it won't fit.

You're gonna want the softest memory foam you can get.

Sterns and Foster make amazing mattresses that can last for decades. They're a little pricier than some of the more common brands but worth it.

Go to the most expensive hotel in town and tell them that you stayed in their hotel for a couple of nights, thought the bed was wonderful, and could they tell you the make of the mattress.

I find hotel beds to be the most comfortable for some reason.

Airsprung in the UK are excellent in my experience, at least their regular sprung mattresses(memory foam fits too close for me), had one for over a decade with no sign of decline.

The problem with testing in store is IMHO you have a tendancy to go for something too soft, hard with very local give to the springs is best for me.

And did those feet in ancient time,
Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

sears if they still have one opened near you have great mattresses for cheap..

Dude dont make a big deal about it, all you need is a FIRM mattress...not hard but FIRM... just go to any store, find one on sale, try it out and if you like it buy it... there is not a lot creativity into getting a firm mattress man, and uless you go to a flea market any mattress from a reputable store will be OK.... 800?? pff dont waste your money TS

Last mattress I bought was around $2,000.
When it was time for a new mattress I ordered one of those Zinus from Amazon. It was on sale at the time. Got a king size for under $200. I've since bought another (queen size).
