In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I remember not too long ago I'd see the old vets selling poppies. I'd always go up to the and thank them and shake their hands. It would often bring tears to their eyes.

This is the biggest shame of the younger generation and immigrants. They just did not grow up like me with their grandpas and great uncles who fought in ww2.

Will all be forgotten about in 20-30 years. Sad.

To all those who have fallen, thank you. I will ensure that my children know of there deeds and ultimate sacrifices, regardless of gender, status, creed and color.

Today's climate we need to remember veterans more than ever. Happy veterans day.

Gramps is a kind of war hero so we try and get him a nice day out of it every year.
