I suspect USADA tests are much more sensitive than people were used to though. They believe they ended the cycle in a proper date, like they used to, but now it's not working.

People who say that Brock getting popped proves how good USADA is are delusional.

Just to play the devil's advocate it might be regarded as a good piece of evidence to show that USADA are unprofessional and their lab results are only accurate 5/6ths of the time on average. This should lead to USADA being banned from being allowed to test athletes for the next two years and hopefully when they return after that they will have their act together.

Alot of athletes take short half life substances just before bed and they are supposed to be clear come morning. But make 1 mistake in dose coinciding with a Novitsky agent at your door in the morning...

Or possibly the chemist/lab that provided you the drug you think your taking makes a quality control mistake, and you piss hot for something you never planned to take. This probably happens quite often as most athletes are getting their drugs from their strength and conditioning coaches who are in turn getting it from the many underground research chemical lab sites out there. Not exactly regulated...

While only speculation the fact he passed multiple tests leading up to the one failed one could very well mean a diuretic or some kind of masking agent. That is also the rumor out there.

The masking agents probably wore off. In all honesty who knows, at the end of the day he tested positive. Period.
