I’ve got an odd feeling in me old bones that Usmans time at the top is over. That brutal KO, his busted knees and now a broken hand don’t have very big upsides for a fighter turning 36 this year.
Leon at home, being the younger champ with the confidence of that brutal KO seem like the perfect ingredients for a win.
More often than not once the guy on tops gets knocked off they don't come back. But Usman has beaten Edwards pretty much every minute until the headkick so I think he has the better chances.
Excited for this one. Usman looked like the better fighter in the first matchup, but this is a sport where Father Time hits you quickly. Great fighters become washed before you know it.
Edwards is absolutely a placeholder, though. It’s only a matter of time before Khamzat or Shavkat runs through him.
