I say this because, whilst he'll never be the striker that Izzy is, he's far more well rounded. He's literally what I had hoped Izzy would become. He can strike with the best strikers in his division and can wrestle with the best of them.
It's crazy how he started off as a striker and became a mixed martial artist so confident in his offensive and defensive wrestling, i remember people calling him a boring wrestler here on sherdog.

Super impressed. Izzy is great but he's spent all his skill points on defensive wrestling and striking. Whereas Leon has that, a ground game and offensive Wrestling. Like an inferior Jon Jones almost. (Yes I know Jones was and is a wrestler first but I mean his frame, tools, penchant for elbows, knees kicks, eye pokes etc)

Yeah.. no, and no i wont say why. Im busy doing nothing.

Leon's the better fighter and he competes in a far more competitive division but he may not end up having the better career, which is really all that matters. ShavGOD RakhmonGOATov will take the title from him.

Khamzat or Nomad will end Leon <{1-9}>@Iroh

Even if they do dethrone Leon. That takes nothing away from Leon's great story and legit rise to the throne.

Also... Khamzat has not recovered from his LOSS to the scale. He can only enter the conversation if he can make weight to challenge. He may be forced to go dethrone the Middleweight Champ.

I agree.
Striker? No. Adesanya is a much more talented kickboxer by leagues.
However, is Leon a better mixed martial artist? Absolutely, he’s much more well rounded and complete as a fighter as a whole. Currently the sport that both of them compete in is Mixed Martial Arts, so I have to say Yes, Leon Edwards is a better fighter than Adesanya.

I mean the comparison is kind of weird. He's definitely more complete but Israel is more of a specialist.

They're not in the same weight class so we'll never know.

Leon is the man. It’s too bad he doesn’t get the respect he deserves. Fans always find a way to discredit him. Nate gets dominated for 99% of the fight, rocks Leon and people act like Leon lost the entire fight. Hell, even pink goof can’t hide his “love”.

Yea i love the well roundedness of Leons fingers in Usman's glove and when he showed his fantastic well roundedness by grabbing the cage ...great move..

Let's not forget when he well roundedly kicked usmans nuts twice...

A true well rounded fighter indeed...

I don't think Edwards has better TDD than Izzy, Usman just seems like he's past his prime.

My god bro, this salt is crazy. I love Usman, too, but he is just not the same anymore and Leon was the better man. They deducted a point. 48-46 Leon, just move on.

Title is click-baity but agree and don't see how anyone else could argue this. Israel is extremely one dimensional and if he wasn't competing in the most barren division I have ever seen in any era (including Mighty Mouse's later FLW reign), he would likely have far more losses.

It's not like he's regularly decimating people in the stand-up either. He narrowly skates by on points for the most part and that's competing against guys who can't even threaten with wrestling. While I don't think Leon Edwards is really special in any way, I feel pretty much the same about Israel who feels like more hype than substance.
