I don't get all this "biggest upset" shit. This is the fight to show us how good Khabib really is or not, and how he fares against the rest of 155, unlike his last 2 fights, as Barboza/MJ have clear weak areas.
The consensus is Khabib & Ferg are the clear top 2 guys but we don't know how they match up with Alvarez/Gaethje/Poirier/Iaquinta who are solid everywhere. Styles make fights.
They have the wrestling to make Khabib work for his takedowns and create moments like these, where they have the hands to punish him for it:

RDA was well rounded too but his hands aren't as dangerous as the 4 guys I mentioned, or at least they weren't back then.

For me, this is a legit title fight to get hyped about, especially considering Al had a full camp. He's clearly one of the top guys despite not being in the top 10 yet.

I'm not saying Khabib won't win, I'm just saying it's harder to predict than people are giving it credit for.

Fun fact: Other than Barboza & Lee, the highest ranked current LW that either Khabib or Ferg have beat is Lando at #29

Al HIMSELF said he wants no part of Khabib, not very long ago.

Almost everyone at 155 is going to be a massive underdog against nurmagomedov. Even El Cucuy was, and he's the Interim champ.

If true ur fun fact is interesting

I’ll take a guess and say the guy fighting in his second fight since three years ago is fighting the guy that is 25-0. And a lot of people think that the undefeated guy is going to win.

68% were picking Khabib to beat Tony.

This thread sucks. There “ it needed to be said “. Am I doing it right nut huggers ?

Well not massive like this. And the odds on Ferg were nowhere near the same as Al. They should all be underdogs, but by this much? Come on

Might be time to drop some cheese on that shit then.

Yeh just ignore actual footage if it's too confusing for you and go off statistics

This fight intrigues me more than the Holloway fight. I won’t count Al out.

Uh cause khabib - and Iaquinta hasn’t fought anyone in the top ten recently

This statement leaves out RDA, who Khabib beat at LW. Its not Khabibs fault RDA moved up to WW.

You can twist your opinion any way you want, but Al hotel hasnt faced the quality of opposition that Khabib has.

All of Al's losses are via sub. Chances are he gets RNCd.

He's an underdog only because of the circumstances: he's been away from MMA a bit so casuals don't know who he is + Khabib has this unbeatable aura about him, kinda like Ronda used to have but in a much more legitimate and justifiable way. All the same, he could get KOed tomorrow night. Al has wins over Kevin Lee, Masvidal, Joe Lauzon, Diego, etc so he's not a slouch, plus he had a camp and is in shape, not jumping into this off the couch.

He is probably more of a threat to Khabib than 6 day notice Holloway was, cause he has KO power where as Max (and Tony for that matter) fight with volume and pressure which is less of a danger to someone like Khabib. If someone can one punch KO you then you're never safe standing up, where as if they have to punch you 50 times to wear you down you have plenty more time to get a takedown and do your thing, Khabib can't make any mistakes tomorrow.

Exactly what I wanted to say but fuck trying to get Sherdoggers to read all that. And people are thinking of it like a Joe Soto thing for some reason. Al could very well be top 5

Well reading the comments looks like it will be an ok fight. But the thing is, does people prefer a quick replacement fight (even if he has 0 chances) like Anderson Silva vs Cormier, or people prefer the fight is cancelled and dont make ridiculous substitutions fights?
