Maybe I have some of.those dates a bit wrong but you get the point. This guy has dealt with such a cosmic shift in overall public opinion for the last two decades. I don't think there is any other public figure that has been beloved and hated as much as this guy.

Partly it's political, but mostly it's just part of the grand sports marketing hype machine. There is no such thing as bad publicity, as they say. It's manufactured drama. People get exhausted with villains, and bored of heroes.

So the media will spoonfeed you both to keep you clicking.
