Brunson was boring. A little rich for Leben to be taking shots at a guy who clearly beat him, but I give Leben the benefit of the doubt here. he is coming off a long layoff and he is usually an exciting fighter.
He looked so bad. Same style of fighting, but he looked soooo slow and just lethargic. Hopefully that changes
When Leben took those shots I was entertained by the fact that he just keeps taking it like it's nothing. But bottom line is, he lost and there should be no excuses.
I came in to post this. I'd be surprised that most people are putting the blame solely on Brunson for that fight sucking if I didn't already know how fucking stupid MMA fans are. Brunson threw way more strikes than Leben. He also advanced position multiple times when he took Leben down and landed hard shots on him on the ground. Leben did nothing but lunge at him a few times. Also, keep in mind that Brunson took the fight on eight days notice when he hadn't been training and was out of shape. Dana and most of the idiots who are abusing Brunson online are mad because they wanted Brunson go out there and stick chin in the air for Leben to hit. IMO Leben's getting a huge pass for having a laughable performance against an inexperienced, out of shape, one-dimensional fighter who was brought specifically to make him look good.
Chris should hang it up his performance was horrible. He seemed gassed before the fight even started, reminds me of his Munoz fight
Leben and Brunson are both fighters that have no business being in the UFC and only are because they are middleweights
I agree with the other posters on this one. Leben had his chance standing in the third and he still got outstruck by a guy who was completely gassed. Ring rust or not he looked just plain bad.
Leben had a full camp. Brunson was working his day job in North Carolina when he got the call two weeks out. That fight was a softball that Zuffa served up to Leben. His performance was fucking pathetic.
Leben was gassed? WHAT!!!!????? no way. Joe Rogan went on for 2 1/2 rounds about how great his cardio was and how tired Brunson looked!
Leben was so slow it was sad to watch. He's completely shot. He was like that in his last fight before the suspension. So I thought he'd be ok with some clean time off, nope, he was worse, it was sad, even if he had landed it wouldn't have helped, he had nothing behind his punches at all.
A soft ball is not an LNP artist with vast wrestling credentials. The Tyrone Woodley's are a dime a dozen, it's simply they have no place in the UFC.
