A quick search on Sherdog's fight finder shows over 300 fighters nicknamed "pitbull". Other dog breeds are under-represented, which in these days of overly-sensitive victim-playing politically-correct society will likely translate into a giant lawsuit on behalf of the pooches who may feel neglected by this.

This could be a bigger issue than USADA and fighter pay combined. Why isn't there more outrage about this??? You people should be demanding a threeway Pitbull eliminator fight between Alves, Arlovski and Correia.

Your lack of caring about the true issues plaguing MMA is appalling.

Arlovski is the only pitbull, the others are pitbulls wanna be.

Predator is overused. Nick and Nate had the right idea with never going by a nickname.

What's in a name really? If I go to college, get a degree and then go dig up native americans I'm an "archaeologist". But if I'm a plumber or a barista, etc...and I go dig up bones at my local cemetery I'm a "felon".

#bullshit

I like the way you think

I don't know about originality, but Darth Bader was pretty awful. Honorable mentions: Mighty Mouse. Cupcake. The Nightmare to The Dream and back to The Nightmare.

I saw an article a long time ago about this and I think it got straight to the point: Anything with the name "Assassin" in it. Or "Warrior".
Josh Barnett's the only person I've seen pull of the moniker with "The Babyfaced Assassin".
And The Ultimate Warrior's the only guy to ever pull off the "Warrior" nickname.

I don't mind the Pitbull nickname. For some guys it's just a fun thing-- like Arlovski-- but other guys like Thiago Alves and Patricky and Patricio Friere really fit the name, so I like it.
Nobody even calls them Patricio or Friere when you're speaking commonly; it's always "Pitbull" or "Patricky Pitbull", to separate him from his more-successful brother.

"Nightmare" and "Mighty Mouse" are great nicknames. Everyone loved Diego at his peak when he called himself "Nightmare". And Demetrious has a sense of humor about the fact that he's 5'3, so Mighty Mouse works.

On the opposite side of the spectrum you have Logan "The Pink Pounder" Clark,i'm going to assume he's the only one.

I don't know whether Mr. or Mrs. Cyborg Santos had their nickname first but someone is unoriginal.

If anyone has ever owned a Pitbull like myself, we can all attest that Pitbulls are actually very docile and loving dogs. It’s more of their physical appearance; so what does that say for the fighter? Just tough looking, butt actually a lil’ cuddle bug?

Yeah there are a million pitbulls and variations of assassins in MMA. Most nicknames suck balls, beastin' 25/8 is hilariously bad, Red King? I still don't know what that even means? However, I pay to watch fighters fight, they get hit in the head for a living so coming up with a cool nickname might not be as easy as it seems.
