Who is currently the least impressive champion the UFC has now? someone who you hear they're fighting and you just go ehhh

I think it's got to be Cain (not due to inactivity) his fights just aren't entertaining, one sided yes, but not entertaining.

Rousey because of how shallow her division is.

TJ because he hasn't had many title defenses yet and has not had the chance to build up his brand.

as of right now, id say cain, besides the injuries, id just prefer watching fighters like mm, aldo, pettis, lawler over cains usual grinder style . Not to say hes boring, but i prefer strikers and bjj

Don't hate me but it is Lawler in that I don't think he is clearly the best at 170 where as it's pretty clear that the other champions are the best.

His journey though is most impressive.

I think the thing with Lawler is that while I completely agree he is not the best 170 guy he is still exciting in that he comes to fight and he looks to finish IMO

Probably the WW paper champs post GSP (Hendricks, Lawler, etc.) Still not clear who is the best WW. I think MacDonald is coming for the belt though, if Dana can stop fucking with him.

Definetly not TJ. What he did to Barao was the most impressive performance in 2014 imo.

I want to say Lawler but how he came back from the dead in his career was super impressive.

All UFC champs are very impressive really.

    The least is esparza

The ones who get injured and take a year or more off and hold up the division, or the ones where we keep seeing constant rematches.

Keep the god damn lunch line moving

i agree here. lawler's a great guy to have a champ, but i could see him losing close contests to several people.

The thread title is a little confusing to me, because I don't equate "least impressive" with not being excited about an upcoming fight. I guess "least impressive" to me would be Werdum, since he didn't beat Cain for his belt. But I'm probably least excited/interested in Aldo's fights, in general - although a fight with Conor or a rematch with Edgar would have me interested.

Has to be TJ.He looked like crap against a nobody coming in at 2 minutes notice for a 5 round fight.
Lost to a 125er.Got almost killed by Hugo Viana.

You can't look like a medicore fighter in every fight, have one Serra fluke fight and be considered a great champ.

Lawler didn't really impress me either.

The other guys are all beasts though.

Ronda because the division is just terrible. Not her fault though.
TJ one great win and that's it. He needs to beat barao again and a couple of more top rated fighters.

What is wrong with you? IF you had used his inactivity as the reason I could have understood. But when he fights he destroys guys.

Lawler. In fighting Hendricks for the second time neither of them looked "game" and he lacks a signature win at UFC WW.

    Clearly Lawler, despite his awesomeness.

I agree with everything SocraticMethod said when it comes to entertainment and impressiveness.

Lol. Serra caught GSP with a lucky shot and TJ absolutely demolished one of the then best P4P fighters on the planet for four rounds and went for the finish in the 5th when he already won the fight. Get real.
