and i also learned the judo triangle against the turtle!!! I learned the harai goshi and it alot more natural for me than the seo nage!! ANd it alot easier on my knees :D. A guy who used to be on a semi-pro judo team (baddass!!!) came by and played with me with judo. He also taught me the judo triangle against the turtle and it was a very cool move!!!

..reverse triangle against the turtle, the triangle that judo player are suposed to be most fond of..

I think I will try and pick that one up to, looks slick

I like the triangle from when you are bacl dowen in a monegatame myself. We have been doing alotta sacrifice throws lately I am in love wioth Yoko Otoshi atm, and i finally pulled of Sode tsurikomi goshi I have had big problems with that before

Leo Leite is in Brasa right now, but he is a Judoka for sure.
He was in the Vasco da Gama Judo Club.
He competed in international judo and was good.
I've seen all his match from that tournament and his style is VERY judoist, and different from the ones of his opponent (Who pull the guard As soon as possible).
He use Throws to gain the mount or half guard, osaekomi for some second and then work for the sub as he try to escape the osaekomi and gain turtle or guard.

Plus every jiujitsu source where i've read about him, call him "Judoka Leo Leite",

filo was a judo pan ams champion but he is still a jiu jitsu guy. simply he is both, heck according to your argument i can claim that he is a jiu jitsu guy who kicks ass in judo.

Not realy, I'm pretty sure Filho started Judo before doing Jiu-Jitsu. I don't think Thalion is saying Leo is not a Jiu-Jitsu guy, only that he is a Judoka as well. Like Rhadi Ferguson.

Ironically, I believe both were successful judoka 1st which would mean....:D

Some Guy like filho do Judo and Bjj but claim themself or are known as Jiujitsu guy.

Other like Leite do both, but claim themself as Judoka.

I've havent see filho in bjj comp , so I'll use Jacare and Leite as sample.

Jacare stand up is Judo but his groundwork is pure Bjj. I'vent seen a Judoka fight like Jacarè Did. It's not about quality, but about Style of Ground work.
U don't see any judo guy doing spider guard for examples.

Leite Stand up is judo off course, but also his Groundwork is the groundwork I've seen done in each judo competition. He use Yokosankaku, He use the typical Cuban Okuri eri jime (a variation of clock choke), he use long Osaekomi (pin).

He know how to defend Bjj guard work for sure, cause he train with bjj guy a lot, but also a lot of Judoka fought or train in sambo or wrestling but are still judoka.
If a wrestler compete in Judo (and train with judoka to do it) and win his match with Double Leg Takedown and Wrestling turnover on the ground, He is a wrestler in Judo. Cause he use wrestling in his match. Sure that move maybe exist in Judo too, and Sure he train with judokas , but the Style IS wrestling (cause nobody except ex-wrestler use it)

Leite fight different from any other Bjj guy i've seen, but just as the typical Judoka with a very good newaza.

This is the video about the Cuban Okuri eri jime I was talking about

There are many many former judo guys who do bjj. Besides bjj is so varied that it's not suprising to see a unique style. Heck No one fights like telles right? Let's look at the facts; Leo has been doing bjj for a long ass time heck he was training with alliance before 2000. He did both, bjj guys have no problem with that but for some reason judo guys... geesh.

i have seen that variation of the choke before. It's a very nasty one...

one question about the judo traingle... won't i get swept when i go for it?

Off topic,

so blanko, are you doing these at the judo club you were going to before? If so, hows that going all in all? How often are you getting there?

doing what?

the judo throws you are learning. I remeber not long ago you were starting at a judo club there and you havent updated. I was just wondering if you were still at the same club.
