At best you could argue he was doing quid pro quo with the establishment. At worst he was selling out for personal interests.

Bernie had to build his name. They tried to stop Bernie, and maybe they did. But maybe it was name recognition that Bernie really lacked, and thanks to the DNC trying to screw him, they gave him exactly what he needed to win in 2020, in that name recognition.

The US middle class was the most robust and saw the largest share of national income when a) the top marginal tax rate was over 90% b) 35% of workers were union members c) banking regulation was historically stringent.

To start, I didn’t do the loan applications because my wife is an accountant and knows that shit WAY better than I,

I’m guessing it had to do with more easily available money, us getting the first house cheaply, then having an asset on the books to purchase the second.


We were probably denied initially because of high debt to income ratio (she went to a fairly expensive college, car loan, etc), not a huge down payment etc. I’m pretty sure her income was the same during the purchase of the first house, she changed jobs somewhere in there for slightly more money, but not more than several k. Then the second (just finishing now).

To be clear: You were turned down for a loan, but later, after debts had been paid down over time (assuming that you and your wife were paying your debts), and your wife started making more money, you finally qualified for a loan. After buying a house, it became an "asset" that allowed you to take on more debt by buying a second house?
