I haven't waded into that thread yet. It's just my opinion that a progressive dem like Sanders won't have the moderate or independent vote required to beat Trump.

You should watch that video in the op then, and here someone not apart of the MSM explain why Trump won in 2016 on a populist platform, and why those rust belt populists will decide this election too, making Bernie the greatest threat to Trump no matter how many times the phrase socialism is repeated ad nauseum.
 
The ONLY person Trump would be afraid of unfortunately is getting ZERO support from her party.
 
I feel like everyone is being willfully ignorant of what Trump actually said. Big surprise there, I know.

Trump said he was afraid Bernie would be picked as VICE president. As in, Hillary would be the actual nominee, and Bernie's base would be placated into voting for her.

Trump is basically saying he'd have to worry if the democrats were unified which....I mean, that's kind of an obvious point now isn't it?

Yeah, I have to agree with @bobgeese You say this but I can't really see what your evidence is to support that claim.

I'm also middle class and I'm doing just fine. I won't be able to handle having my taxes increased as promised by Sanders though. I'll have to make some tough decisions if I'm taxed dramatically and I can't see where the appeal is in that.

Can you explain how your circumstances changed in the last few years, causing you to go from not being eligible for a single loan, to getting two home loans?

I think when he's forced to defend his plans in the debates, its all going to come crashing down. When people realize they'll actually be paying for all this "free stuff", the charm will wear off quick.

To start, I didn’t do the loan applications because my wife is an accountant and knows that shit WAY better than I,

I’m guessing it had to do with more easily available money, us getting the first house cheaply, then having an asset on the books to purchase the second.


We were probably denied initially because of high debt to income ratio (she went to a fairly expensive college, car loan, etc), not a huge down payment etc. I’m pretty sure her income was the same during the purchase of the first house, she changed jobs somewhere in there for slightly more money, but not more than several k. Then the second (just finishing now).
 
The fact that millions of people will proudly vote for trump twice just shows you where we're at as a society

Boomergoose and his generation have a good excuse with the lead in gasoline and paint and whatnot

The people under 35 or 40 who will be in the 2xTrump club have my deepest sympathies

Yes if those people are not getting fired it isn't a good look at all. I was meaning Bernie seems quite weak. Such as being screwed by his own party then supporting Hilary all the same. Not really a "big d"
