Just curious about people's opinions
I'd go with Lawler. I don't see why Robbie can't beat and possibly knock Manhoef out again, he might even have a better performance than last time.
Lawler, by even brutal-er(?) KO
Not every fight needs a rematch or the ever popular hypothetical 10.
They fought, somebody won, let's move on
Manhoefs chin will always let him down
Lawler. Manhoef always has a chance though.
Lawler would beat him with much less difficulty in a rematch. Manhoef's chin is shot.
Other than the Hunt KO, has Manhoef ever actually beat a fighter that had a reputation of being hard to put away? He seems to lose these fights 10 out of 10, even if he's more skilled.
Manhoef would win only if they were both wearing boxing gloves.
Melvin's chin is gone
Yes. He finished Misaki who beat both Dan Henderson and Paul Daley.
Good call. I didn't realize Misaki got finished by Manhoef. Misaki had a weird career. Beats an elite guy like Dan Henderson, but loses twice to Jorge Santiago.
Not a hard pick considering that Lawler is in the best form of his career and Manhoef is almost 40 and has a completely shot chin.
Robbie again via "wising up" & makin a shot, forcing a g'n'p to wear Melvin down then knockin'em out in the 2nd.
Odd seeing some people saying that "Manhoefs chin is gone". He never had a "chin" to begin with. Lawler would more than likely ko Manhoef in the 1st rd BUT Melvin has a "punchers chance" with anyone on the planet. His punch-kick combos are HOF worthy IMO.
god damn the stupid fuckery that happens within a post sometimes. good lordy shit, please: if you are American, don't admit it.
Lawler handles Manhoef a second time. More lopsided than the first but not as enjoyable.
Lawler by KO punches!
Kazuo Misaki was pretty tough in his day.
Misaki fought Siyar Bahadurzada, Dan Henderson twice, Phil Baroni, Paul Daley, and Jake Shields and was never stopped by strikes in those fights, until he fought Manhoef.
But when you knockout Mark Hunt with a single punch right in the beginning of the 1st rd, that's the kind of demonstration that leaves no doubt that Melvin has pretty unique power.
I have never seen Mark Hunt get destroyed as brutally as that was by any other single strike in his career. He went completely limp and was convulsing on the ground from the follow up shots Melvin hit him with.
People are having a discussion. Whine about it somewhere else.
To give Melvin his due he was beating the shit out of Robbie. If I didn't know better I would of called that KO a fluke, but I do know better.
