Lawler vs Cerrone. Is this Lawler´s last title run? If he gets brutally KOed, should he retire?

What do you guys think, is this fight against Cerrone his last run for the belt???

Lawler got brutally KOed by Woodley not too long ago... and at this stage of his career it must get him to think how much more of this he wants to endure.

Most people are expecting Lawler to KO Cerrone, but we know what Cowboy is capable of... So if Lawler gets KOed again, do you guys think it´s time for him to hang them up?

It's up to Robbie.

If he passes the proper medical checks and wants to fight then he should do what he wants. He will anyway.

Maybe just a little style change, retirement might be a bit premature

I don't see cowboy being too big of a challenge for ruthless.

He's used to fighting bigger harder hitters

Maybe so; maybe not...either way, I can't WAIT for this fight! Potential for FOTY IMO

Seeing as this is not a title fight, I'd give this to Cowboy. Pressure should not be high on him so he can do some work. Lawler won't go down easy tho

if he's still the lawler that fought condit rory etcc he should murder cowboy np, donald isn't a 1 punch ko type of fighter like woodley and he's also made of glass

Cerrone's not known for his resilience, so if Lawler lands on him, Cerrone won´t last long. I could be wrong though.

Made of glass? Three TKO losses in 40 professional fights? Two of those three being to former champs?

Yeah... GTFO

No offense to Cerrone but Lawler is knocking him out. We won't know much about Lawler's future until he gets in there with top guy like Thompson or even a rematch with Woodley.

he has a glass body but not everyone knew how to exploit it, lawler does, also he prolly has a glass chin too now

I'm glad Robbie took the time off.

I like both of them but I see the fight going well for Lawler. He's a pressure fighter who doesn't wilt and has fight-ending power in his hands and legs and can wrestle with the best in the division. Cowboy doesn't do well against fighters that can throw everything back at him and then some. Should be a great fight but I think Lawler takes it.

If he does get KTFO'd, I hope he retires. Let him keep his health.

Lawler's taken a ton of damage his last few fights, I wouldn't be surprised if he's done with title runs.

It is crazy that Lawler went 3-5 in Strikeforce and was losing to Manhoef until the KO. Then he went on a winning streak as a champ in the UFC.

Agreed. I don't think he'll ever fight safe, but I also think that he has a few more years in the sport, provided he is not used as cannon fodder to young contenders. Would love fo see him back at MW, maybe for a match-up with Lombard or Vitor.

Absolutely insane 5 round wars with:

Hendricks I
Hendricks II
Rory II
Condit

Thats what the last few years of his life has looked like. Its easy to forget since it was a few years back, but his fights with Hendricks were unreal. Those guys spent minutes at a time throwing power punches to the head fighting in a phone booth.

I'm absolutely convinced the freaky long war with Condit broke the camels back. He crumbled when Woodley hit him and he's a guy known for his ability to absorb punishment.

The long break was a smart move, and I really respect that, but I'd rather see Robbie round out his career sooner than later. More brain trauma should not be on the menu, its just not worth it.

I wouldn't say so just because Cerrone has proven power at welterweight and has handed a lot of guys their first or only lost by (T)KO (guys like Cote and Story). If Lawler gets knocked out by someone like Colby Covington, then I would say it's time to hang it up. Or if he gets knocked out in his next three fights. So for now if he does get knocked out by Cerrone, I wouldn't say it's time to hang it up yet.

I think Woodley becoming champ was just very good timing on Woodley's part.

Robbie was shopworn by that fight from all the 5 round wars he's been in, and Woodley just happened to have enough power to capitalize on that. A prime Lawler would kill Woodley and take his soul.
