I Just watched Ryo Chonan vs. Anderson silva and Joe lauzon vs. Jim miller a couple of times. To me, it looked like the flying leg lock Lauzon attempted on Miller was the same thing Ryo Chonan tapped anderson with. i could be wrong, but was it the same technique?
They're doing slightly different variations of the same technique. Lauzon is great with it. I think the first time I saw him use it was against Kipp Collar in a grappling tournamanrt, haha
They both dropped the same direction, and ended up in the same position. It was most definitely the same move.
Btw if you wanna look it up it's just a scissor leg take down to an inverted heel hook. I think kani basami in japanese terminology?
True but that is kind of like saying asnytime someone jumps for a flying traingle and lands on the ground with a triangle it's the same, but the truth is it can be set up different ways and jumped into from different angles depending on the circumstance. with that said I've seen Lauzon use this more than anyone else, I've only seen Chonan do this that one time.
