1. Izzy only took the first fight because he thought he could get a revenge win against a guy with little experience in the cage...so no he didnt do because he is "down to fight anyone." He wanted to get ahead of a threat and it backfired.
2. Of course he set this rematch up as the last time they fight. If he wins he doesnt have to rematch, and of course there wouldn't be a 4th fight if he loses again..literally nothing to lose under these stipulations. And Dana definitely doesnt want a rematch. Since Usman lost he needs a African champ to break into the country.
3. Ok this is what really shows some of you are idiots...believing Izzy was playing "possum." Literally just eating the bs that comes out of his mouth. It doesnt take a smart person to see he was in trouble. The leg was compromised, which is why he was on the fence. And it was starting to look like the end of the first fight. He shelled up to avoid the shots and instead of waiting for Alex to let up and potentially land a shot, he takes a risk and fires back..which did pay off. Why the hell would he put himself intentionally in a spot that caused him to lose in the fight before?
4 Tying into point 2. Alex 100% deservese a rematch, he won the first fight and was winning the second fight until he screwed up. How many times did Holloway get a rematch when he didnt have 1 win against Volk..or there not be a trilogy unless there were negotiation conflicts. You have 2 strikers with TKO/KO wins over another, BOTH fights were exciting...and UFC isnt wanting to run that back??? Thats a promotions dream situation..it sells itself. But no..like i said above. Dana needs a African with a belt to break into that market and Issy knows its a tough night out. If he was confident as he says he is. There is no way he is happy with 1-1 as a competitor. He knows the direction that second fight was heading, which is why he got so hyped after the flash KO, he was as surprised as everyone else.
Cant wait to hear some of you casuals, responses.
