1. Izzy only took the first fight because he thought he could get a revenge win against a guy with little experience in the cage...so no he didnt do because he is "down to fight anyone." He wanted to get ahead of a threat and it backfired.

2. Of course he set this rematch up as the last time they fight. If he wins he doesnt have to rematch, and of course there wouldn't be a 4th fight if he loses again..literally nothing to lose under these stipulations. And Dana definitely doesnt want a rematch. Since Usman lost he needs a African champ to break into the country.

3. Ok this is what really shows some of you are idiots...believing Izzy was playing "possum." Literally just eating the bs that comes out of his mouth. It doesnt take a smart person to see he was in trouble. The leg was compromised, which is why he was on the fence. And it was starting to look like the end of the first fight. He shelled up to avoid the shots and instead of waiting for Alex to let up and potentially land a shot, he takes a risk and fires back..which did pay off. Why the hell would he put himself intentionally in a spot that caused him to lose in the fight before?

4 Tying into point 2. Alex 100% deservese a rematch, he won the first fight and was winning the second fight until he screwed up. How many times did Holloway get a rematch when he didnt have 1 win against Volk..or there not be a trilogy unless there were negotiation conflicts. You have 2 strikers with TKO/KO wins over another, BOTH fights were exciting...and UFC isnt wanting to run that back??? Thats a promotions dream situation..it sells itself. But no..like i said above. Dana needs a African with a belt to break into that market and Issy knows its a tough night out. If he was confident as he says he is. There is no way he is happy with 1-1 as a competitor. He knows the direction that second fight was heading, which is why he got so hyped after the flash KO, he was as surprised as everyone else.

Cant wait to hear some of you casuals, responses.

Dude its fucking Sherdog, its 90% people that talk about fighting that haven't thrown a punch or a takedown in their whole life.
Just enjoy the fuckery and argue a bit if you are bored but never take this shit too serious, that can't be good for your mental health.

Your the casual who thought Alex was the better fighter ...

Izzy had him in the first fight ran out of time to finish.

This time not the case..

Facts Izzy caught Alex first in the first fight ..the bell saved Alex

How do i know this ...

IZZY KOED HIM WITH THE SAME SEQUENCE IN THE NEXT FIGHT ...OFF THE CAGE RIGHT HAND TO THE LEFT HOOK

1. Alex wasn't going to get any better at MMA in a way that is significant in a matchup against Izzy than he was at 35 and Izzy obviously thinks he is also getting better. Izzy could have easily just let other guys dispatch him or tried to forget about him. Letting Alex jump the queue is rightfully something he should be credited for.

2. Not sure what you're getting at. Alex is the only one I can think of that suggested Izzy take other fights in between and nobody really thinks Izzy was especially brave for trying to run it back. Maybe timing-wise it could be criticized.

3. Agreed. The possum stuff is cap from Izzy. Alex just got overzealous and didn't have enough caution.

4. Alex needs to take a year off. He got absolutely flatlined. This trilogy should happen but Alex should sideline himself for the time being and see how things shake out. If his weight is under control and Izzy dispatches a contender or two then the trilogy will make itself.

Op calling people casuals while using sherdog as his personal diary {<jordan}

How many times did Holloway get a rematch when he didnt have 1 win against Volk

1 immediate rematch after having three consecutive defenses, and another shot after the controversial rematch and beating two top contenders. Alex lost here by stoppage in his first defense.

1- Izzy took the Alex fight for MONEY.

Not sure if anyone else is in on this secret but prize fighters fight for money.

2- also money.

3- possum is bullshit.

4- no. Dude that got slept with NO TITLE DEFENSES doesn't get to fight the same guy in title fights 3x in a row without fighting any contenders and skipping all the hard matchups on the way to the title.

Fuck outta here with that shit.
