While i have no fighter to root for, i kind of want to see Lara getting beat handily, just for a chance to see another goldennboy-esque meltdown.

Nah man....One thing doesn't mean the other. Rigo was a bad match-up for Nonito from the beginning. I was actually shocked Nonito took the fight considering the risk JUST when he was starting to get some shine on the P4P lists.

I have Canelo as a slight favorite going into this match with Lara...

but if Lara pulls this off...I might not show my face around here for a while....considering the immense amount of $hit we have been giving Cuban23

And my honest prediction of the fight was that Canelo wins by a couple rounds.
 
This is a sign of a great fight. I am emotionally involved and rooting for the cinniman =) but Lara has to be the favorite here.

I hope you guys don't disappear if Cuban turns out right
 
I don't mind if Lara wins. I'm not that personally vested in all this.
I just don't think he'll do enough to do so, and that Canelo is an all around better boxer/thinker with a higher skill level than he gets credit for... With all the trash Lara's been talking, he would've been better off staying quiet and letting a lethargic semi-motivated Canelo come in and steal some rounds from him.

I look at match-ups, and call 'em. Like I did when I said Maidana vs May is gonna be harder than you guys think.
I'll still be here posting regardless of the outcome, probably that night.
 
Canelo picks his shots well, so I don't think Lara will be able to find enough openings for meaningful counters. Couple that with Canelo's superior combination and punching power, and Lara's low output, I see Lara losing a decision

Lara won that fight IMO, but I really don't think it was the worst decision I ever saw. Greatly exaggerated mostly because Williams didn't seem to be taking shots as well as he usually did.

I never cared for Paul Williams but he made fights close just by throwing a shitload of punches.
 
OK.....8-4 Lara. Nothing really special, kinda slick but really committed to that 1-2 and PWill was kind of tailor made for what Lara does. PWill has NO defense...never did.
Same thing over and over (probably why I stopped having interest the first time I saw Lara fight). Lara won clearly though, I can't believe TWO of the judges said Paul won??!!

Lara doesn't really like pressure or the inside game though. Honestly still nothing jumps out at me about Lara, yet.

Molina, Matirosyan and Trout fights next.
