Kotsya Tszyu's lead hand

i've been searching for video but have had no luck.

basically it is thrown like a cross between a shovel hook and a jab. he is able to create a lot of power with it by using his legs and exploding up and into the opponent.

his lead hand looks good to me. it's like his probing hand, thats pretty much how i was taught to use it

I can get some pics tomorrow peregrine. But Kostya is known in the Boxing World for being like a freakin' laser-guided missile when it comes to accuracy. I have footage someplace of him doing this exercise where he has a band tied to his head with a tennis ball at the end of an elastic string hanging, and he punches the tennis ball, keeping it suspended, like those old paddle-balls older people like myself had when we were kids.

PLUS he had excellent power. I mean he made Zab Judah look like a newborn giraffe with that little break-dance he did after Kostya punched him.

Hatton fought a picture-perfect fight to neutralize those aspects with just brute force and non-stop rushing, and even he said Kostya was physically stronger and very difficult to contain.

KingKabuki
exactly. i want to reanalyze some of his fight footage and replay his body mechanics. especially that lead hand. i know he is known for his right hand but that lead hand is impressive as well. i can't find video unless you pay.

Peregrine, here's the highlight reel of Tszyu/Hatton. I know Kostya lost, but it's still a good thing to have. I'll dig up more as time goes on, been having to re-organize a bunch of my stuff:

even though i ordered the PPV, that highlight really emphasized how many punches kostya did land on hatton.

I've never been that impressed by K's lead hand -- later in his career he started developing an effective lead hook, but apart from that he was a classic "probe with left, kill with right" kind of guy. His left was the setup.
