I think the head control is also key to get it working against the typical bjj bent over stance. Its difficult to do the timing-based version shown when their hips are so far away and they're not fighting from an upright stance. The average bjj guy isn't going to devote the hours needed for getting that timing down either.Kouchi needs control with hands, especially pushing uke's head, or he can transfer weight back to the other foot.
